For any of you up in N.E. Scotland, Crathes Castle gardens are looking amazing at the moment, best I have seen them.

I am in daily contact via email with 4 friends I "met" on the GW boards when they were part of the Beeb.  I have met one of them for visits to Chelsea and Tatton RHS shows where we met up with others from those days.  I have met another at Malvern.   Another came to stay with us for a week for a break after a bad marriage break up.

Your dacha looks very romantic in winter.     Have only holidayed in Tuscany and the Dolomites but have friends who rave about Sicily - great history, great views and great food.

Lots of thunder and lightning here this evening but not a drop of rain.   Bonzo was so worried he dived under the desk and hid in the corner.   Silly boy but he's always been afraid of thunder.

    Bedtime now.  G'night all.

Hi everyone. Lovely sunny day here so far, but the wind hasn't quite given up. It comes and goes (just when you think it's ok to go out, it starts again). I had another fight with the clothes line, but everything is hanging straight down now. image

Clari, I loved your post about THAT phone call. We actually got one last night at midnight - being smart asses, I suppose since Hubby has started collecting their numbers and putting a 'do not aswer' on each of them. Last night's call was irritating since for a change we were both asleep and it showed up as a Private number which he cannot divert.

Love the photo of the gorgeous dog.

Almost forgot to say that the Victorian snow fields had some avalanches last night. I can't remember hearing that before.

Morning all.....woken by the cooing of the pesky pigeons .......our apartment is in an area of Moscow called Akademicheskaya because it's where many of the academics live ....who work at the many academies in the area....including the imposing Moscow state University below.....it is also home to god knows how many pigeons .....reminds me of old Trafalgar Square sometimes......whatever happened to them?

Morning all, Been up since 4 just can't sleep and feel really anxious and worried. image Thought I would catch up on here and see who was about.

A second vote here for Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.  Went for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was beautiful. I agree Chicky, Pompeii is amazing.

Dacha your place in winter looks gorgeous, we don't seem to get snow anymore and I miss it.  My granddaughter who is 4 has never seen it

Clari, that's  lovely photo of Reggie, looks like butter wouldn't melt.

Liri, congrats on the medal, what a nice surprise.

See you all later off for a browse.
