Morning all! It's my day off today and I have my list of jobs all lined up. It still looks almost dark outside so I don't think cutting the grass will be happening! I've a new farm shop to investigate and I want to get all of my quilting stuff out the boxes to see what damage the house renovation did to the fabrics (I suspect they weren't as tightly sealed down as I had hoped).
But first; a mug of tea and walk the hound before his bath time!
Oooo. Lovely lake view. Interesting about the endangered species you wrote about. Our Roos arent endangered, but we can't see a good reason for shooting them.
Good morning all Lovely to see the photos and chat from across many miles ... t'internet being put to it's proper use
Plans have changed a bit and now I'm going to sons tomorrow instead of today. So what to do today? Well we are going to reorganise the area where the pots of ferns live and incorporate the hedgehog feeding station into it making it less accessible to the neighbours cat who seems to have discovered it
Sitting here in bed we've been watching a flock of young starlings practising aerial ballet moves. These past few weeks the group has been forming up as youngsters fledge and join together perching on the cluster ofTV arials on the roof opposite. Fascinating
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning Pat! Your photos didn't load first time round; I find it fascinating how different your side of the world looks to ours. (Though since Yorkshire is currently washing up water grey anything with colour would look different).
Joyce: fortunately there's nothing too special in there. I do however want to play around with ideas for seasonal cushion covers for the lounge so I won't mind too much about using them for practice pieces if they're a bit scruffy.
Not every day! Yesterday my partner took Reggie to the "pit top" (old slag heap from the coal mines that is now a grassy nature reserve) and let him enjoy himself in the pond / sludgy stagnant horrid stinky murky water. He however failed to rinse him off properly so he smells... like a swamp monster.
If I wash Reggie in the morning after our walk he's more relaxed and will snooze on the lawn (if it's sunny) or on a mountain of old towels in the lounge til he's dry.

Morning Clari. Hope plaster dust hasn't got into your box of fabrics.
