    Hello all!

Well done DD!  I'm really pleased (but not at all surprised) that your first weekend went so well.  I hope Charlie is as excited as you are!  image

It looks as if the weather was better than you expected for the Open Garden, BL.  Glad your hard work was rewarded with plenty of visitors, even if they did eat all the cake...

Good news about the ankle, Dove!  Hope they manage to get to the bottom of the knee (if you see what I mean...)

And good that your eye should be getting the treatment it needs, finally, LilyP.

Hard luck, Nanny Beach!  Hope the builders sort it before you go properly up the wall...

It's scarcely morning any more image and certainly won't be by the time I post this!  I had a solid 8 hours sleep last night, following an "interesting" overnight bus trip to London, but I'm now walking round like a zombie.  The gloom outside doesn't really encourage me to wake up properly and do something useful - incessant rain and 12 degrees, a bit of a shock after the weather in London yesterday.

The bus was kind of fun... but I now realise it's probably 20 years since I last travelled overnight to London, and the old bones are less adaptable to sleeping in odd positions.  I had ear plugs, a cushion and a sleep mask, which proved very useful, though nothing will really work to exclude the sound of a crying baby at 4 am.  (He was just across the aisle.)  And when we reached Nottingham, the driver found he had 2 passengers more than the maximum number for his bus - so at 2.45 am we were all woken up so he could check our tickets, and find the two people who'd been allowed on by the previous driver at an earlier stop without properly checking their tickets and discovering they were in fact booked on another bus a couple of hours later.  They were ejected and told to wait for the right bus.  Meanwhile we were all well awake, and there was a lot of talking (not by me!) for the next half hour.

Shame about the photo uploads - I've got some from Kew and I know others have too...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Afternoon all,  Raining and grey here today.  Don't mind because I'm too tired to do much after the Kew trip yesterday.  Had a lovely time and I will also post photos when I can.  Don't know how you are functioning after that bus trip Liri, think I'd still be in bed.  No delays on the return trains yesterday so I made good time and was home for around 9.30.

Woke up this morning to a scene from Amityville.  For some reason we have had an invasion of flies in the lounge.  Hundreds of them.  We can find anything wrong and can't find where they are getting in.  Have checked loft, cellar and guttering and can't find anything that has died, no smell either, but something is attracting them.  Have sent hubby out to track down some stuff to deal with the problem.  Hate flies, yuk.

Glad Bl and DD had successful events and hope business continues to be good.  Don't forget to relax occasionally DD.

Glad the boot is off Dove, doesn't it feel good.

Hope Pat and Clari feel better soon.

I know I will have forgotten loads of stuff so sorry to those I've missed out.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

We're watching the Tour (still) and they are in the Dordone at the moment. Wouldn't it be exciting to see DD's Chateau.

Still dry here in Norfolk  - the  grass has been cut at the front of house and  there's a load of washing on the line in the back garden, so hope the rain holds off for a bit ... friend who lives close to the All England Club at Wimbledon says it's bucketing down in her garden ... thank goodness for the roof on Centre Court image

I am, Dove. hubby cooked dinner for me, steamed piece of Chicken and Steamed spud. I feel a bit guilty that he is doing everything on his Birthday, but I'll make it up to him when I'm back to normal. image
