Had a marvellous day in Birmingham and found myself in a rather lovely 'secret' garden, 7 floors up. Will post some pics on the garden visits thread later or tomorrow.

Morning all when youre around. Hosta, I can't get over how it sneaks up on you. So vicious! I hope you can have some recovery time.

Would it be a good idea to carry a small vial of strong pain killers in a pocket at all times? It might give you the opportunity to get to a bed or somewhere comfortable.

LGtheL, we watched Michael Portillo in Birmingham last night. Very interesting - especially Cadburys bourneville set up.

Morning Forkers,  Rainy here but hoping it will brighten up later.  Breakfast of painkillers this morning, overdid the gardening yesterday.  Cleared out ivy, holly etc from an overgrown corner of the garden and paying the price for it today.  Will need to have a think what to plant as it's north facing, has some old tree roots and is also close to a hawthorn tree.

I'm laptop seeking today as this one is playing up and getting on my nerves.  It keeps shutting down unexpectedly and not charging properly.  Don't want anything fancy.

    What's everyone else up to?

Morning. The thick cloud has arrived, as forecast. Was going to do the Big Butterfly Count with my niece today but I think choosing a sunnier day would be better.

Morning, it's been very wet but seems dry at the moment.

village is recovering from the excitement of the BBC filming scenes for an Agatha Christie. Enormous lights up on cherry pickers, huge catering vans and more vintage cars than you could shake a stick at.

hope to get things tidied in greenhouse and fruitcage before I head south on Monday for a week of grannie duties.
