Lovely image in my head now of Hosta tottering.

Been watching Daily Politics while sewing.  On the grounds that the pundits are getting things hopelessly wrong they called in an astrologer to predict what kind of summer Theresa May and Jeremy Corbin might have and then David Davis.  Very funny.   It seems that two forthcoming solar eclipses over the USA will have an interesting effect on the Trump too.   Who knew Andrew Neil could be so irreverent?

    Hello all.  image

Had a good giggle at your entertaining conversations since I last looked in.  image  Though I suspect Hosta's foot problems aren't altogether a laughing matter... supportive footwear might be the answer, perhaps.

Good advice for Dove about packing.  A radio so you don't go completely nuts is also helpful...

We're off tomorrow on the family holiday so i shouldn't really be on here - got a lot to do, including preparing & freezing a lot of raspberries, and making a cake.  I'll take a box of blueberries with me cos they're very popular with the granddaughters.  We'll have no internet for the first week so I probably won't be on here a lot... hope all goes well with you in my absence!  image

Been a bit distracted, watching this lot. They are house sparrows, nesting in a hole in our house wall (really must get round to doing some pointing this winter) . 4 chicks all nearly fledged image. Mum and Dad have been working really hard. Last week all I could see were little open beaks when Mum and Dad arrived. Today I could see all 4 chicks shuffling in and out of the gap. I guess they'll be flown very soon.

Sorry my camera doesn't have a very good zoom and I don't want to get closer for fear of disrupting them - hope you can see them

Dove, when we moved here, I am very superstitious, so woudlnt tell nyone we were selling or pack (years ago had people opt out of sale AFTER contract stage) so |Hubby is on a course, hundreds of miles away, Tuesday, we hear contracts exchange completion moving on the Frifay, no;1 son came over, I worked a night sift packed all day for a couple of days, he emptied our shed which had the most enomouse amount of tools, I was halucinating by then soooh tired but couldnt sleep.  Was talking to my youngest, she is in a terrible state, privately renting, same house 6 years, originally with (now ex) kids dad, who couldnt keep it in his trousers, she had 2 small kids wasnt working, he wasnt earning much, so his Dad was guarantor,.went to letting agent to get new bloke (intending to marry THIS one) on tenncy, along ith his wage slip, bank statement, bank card, was told it would take 4 weeks.  Rang, firstly, they said they had lost his stuff (photocopies) so she spoke to the Manager said she was reporting them to the data protection agency, THEN they claim they didnt actually go into the Office at all with the paperwork!  THEN they said she would have to be re-referenced, although she has lived there, and pai the rent on time for 6 years, AND added she might not be able to carry on living there, she is crying in a right state, (time of the month as well!) Told her to speak to the landlord who is really nice, and obviously paying a lot of money to these letting agents for not very much in return, so I read her out some of the posts on here, butts, tits etc. she said you sound like a really nice bunch, and not like Mumsnet!.

NB - sorry to hear of your daughter's problems especially when you are dealing with your own.

Hope there are positive outcomes for both of you.
