Just felt something tickling my leg inside the big black boot ........... ripped the Velcro straps open and pulled it off .......... can't find anything but we've had some flying ants indoors over the past couple of days, and the boot was left in the front hallway overnight ............ image

Now I've got to wait for OH to come back from wherever he is to help me strap myself back in ..........

I just got pooped on from a great height. Fortunately it missed my head, travelled down my trousers and landed on my boot.

Just got changed and switched telly on.

Wimbledon  has the referee with the Barry White voice on.

I don't think the warmth has travelled north fast enough for it to be Ant Flying Day here too... maybe tomorrow, when we have a yellow warning for severe storms with localised flooding.  Please, please not floods in the Calder valley again.  There are still businesses rebuilding from Boxing Day 2015.  image

Glad to hear you still have hedgehogs, Hosta and Dove.  It's several years since I saw one around here - which I find surprising, given we're on the edge of a reasonable area of woodland with plenty of cover for hogs in winter.  Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right place at the right time.

It's a bit brighter now, and the breeze should get the washing dried, with luck.  Must pick more raspberries!  Last night I made 4lb of raspberry jam, the first from this crop.  It tastes pretty good!  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Gaggle of small boys and mothers gathered at the edge of our lawn ... ants swarming across the pavement ... we discussed broken feet, ants and  green woodpeckers at length ... I told them how my niece once had an ant farm in her bedroom ... I may not be very popular with the mothers imageimage

Liri - agree about handbags and always use a shoulder bag and I even have 2 clever Italian stylish leather ones that convert to back pack bags for when I'm at a plant or fabric fair thus leaving both hands free.  Feel the same about coats without hoods which mean you have to mess with an umbrella.  Learned that was stoopid when I had Possum in a pushchair.

Pdoc - am I right in thinking you have stress problems?   Nothing, I bet, to the acute stress you put your lady thru when you disappear, incommunicado, to war-torn parts.  Time to develop your EQ and empathy levels and not be so flippant.

Busy day here and we're both exhausted after disturbed sleep.   Wavre market very good, as ever, but drive into a Brussels a nightmare of roadworks heading past the EU quarter to the centre.  Hot too.  Mission accomplished tho.   I now have stocks of curry pastes, mirin, rice wine vinegar and sweet chili sauce to last me a wee while.   They only do little pots at the Vietnamese shop in La Roche-s-Y.

Quiet night in is called for then errands tomorrow and cinema.   She wants to see Wonder Woman since I don't do Johnny Depp or Tom Cruise or Marvel Comic films............

Not watching tennis or cycling here.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Afternoon all. Things are stabilising at work. By stabilising I mean we are duct taking quicker than new broken bits are appearing.

I'm meant to be going to a scout meeting tonight But my brain is too fried with work things. His lordship is working late and I think I need a blanket the sofa and almighty mug of tea and nothing more complicated than than beans on toast to try and cook.

I'm making a spicy mince type thing for tea - I can send some to you Clari. Having a mug of tea myself right now....

Another hectic day at work. I long for the end of August when it starts to get a little easier!

We had a lot of rain yesterday Liri - they had to cancel a concert last night at Bellahouston Park (Glasgow)  as they couldn't set up. Ground would have been dreadful I think. Thankfully, it's warmed up a bit today - even got above mid teens for a change. Too many days where it's barely reached low double figures. Ho hum - typical July really. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Climbing into the car and I realised my Teddy Bear companion and I appear to have coordinated our clothes today.

Just in case anyone needed a giggle!
