    Morning everyone!

I hate handbags.  Hands need to be free for holding things/other people's hands.  Shoulder bags fall off narrow shoulders.  Women - for some reason best known to clothes designers - don't need to put things in pockets.  I'm about to manufacture a "secret pocket" on my rucksack strap to carry a credit card or a bit of money, for days when it's too warm for a jacket.

I'm full of admiration for people who do relief work, Dove (and PD).  But it must be hell for those left behind.

Sorry about the hoglet, Hosta.  Are your hogs still in evidence?  And Dove, do you still see Hefty?

How lovely to see a badger, PD!

Hope your final few days before opening go smoothly, DD.

Hampton Court show sounds great, Chicky!  Did you buy anything?

    Any cake left, Fairy???

No notifications this morning so I'll have to search for the threads I follow.  And still no photos...  It's a shame things on the site are a bit unstable... but we get there in the end...  image

I haven't been getting notifications either for a day or two. Forget when it stopped.

we got about one mm rain this afternoon.

I'm thinking of Joyce and family, but don't want to belabour the topic. Don't want to make things more  difficult than it already will be for them.  She'll get back on the forum when she feels better.

It's good to read all your chatting, but not much happening here. Daughters birthday today (52 ) and my Hubby's birthday next week, so we are going to meet in Canberra for a family lunch out on Saturday to combine the two.  My biggest problem is that I haven't been able to think of what to buy for him. Our shops in town are a bit restricted in choice of suitable things. He doesn't smoke or drink, he buys what books he fancies on line, running out of ideas. Maybe I'll buy him several lotto tickets.image

Liri, yeah I still see the adults and they come most nights for supper. I just put out enough to entice them back, but not enough to "fill them up" . They've got to earn their keep by going on slug patrol.

Hubby called this morning. His clients are off to Hampton Court to-day. He shouted

    " X said, buy him a nice Hosta" cheeky sod. ( I bet they don't )

They're flippin loaded and once inherited 3 houses in 6 months and not one less than £500K. Guess what? They still plead poverty.

Washing done and hung out. agapanthus fed, Polytunnel watered , drived " pathcleared" so cuppa then the grass should be de-dewed enough to cut.

Punkdoc, love yah to bits, you know that, but Dove's right ( as ever )

"  Punkdoc ((hugs))  ... No you don't .... you don't have any idea ... you know that (barring awful and unlikely accident) your OH will return home safe and sound.  She was scared out of her mind that she would never see you again ... and with very good reason. "

Hosta, I bet those houses take a lot of costly maintenance ... image    It's always the flippin' loaded ones that watch the pennies ... I remember a couple of miniscule wedding present cheques from the 'Very Loaded' side of the family ... I mean, I was grateful to get anything, but it did make Ma sniff a bit image

Liri ... Hefty stopped appearing over a year ago ... after that mild wet winter ... and last summer we didn't see any, but this summer I started putting some food right by the 'Hedgehog Gate' in the fence and we soon started seeing hedgehogs in the garden again ... probably Hefty's offspring ... there were several in the garden last night ... they woke OH up around 1am , snuffling and grunting and pushing the dish around on the terrace ... I sleep much more soundly than he does ...

I do understand a tiny bit of what the OH goes through when I am away and she does get to beat me on my return, a task she seems to relish a bit too much. [ Don't tell her I enjoy it to. ]

Right, need to get lawns mowed.

Wheres the job based Dove?. I know someone in that line of work just been made redundant. She organises flights to offshore rigs, safety training etc. She is in Houston Texas, but has a UK, Australian and USA passports,  so can work almost anywhere except Canada.
