I have taken my boot off and am wearing a pair of comfy sandals ... just to see how it goes ... OH has forbidden me from doing 'anything silly' .... so I'm sitting on the sofa with you lot for a little while ... it's lovely to feel fresh air around my toes image

    Morningimage

Nice day again today - did loads of deadheading yesterday and it's all in piles around the lawn ready to be mowed up to shred for the compost bin - will do that later and cut the grass.

Meantime I have a bolognese to make - part to portion up and freeze and the rest to turn into a lasagne - also for the freezer. Will also be making lemon meringue ice cream (forgot to buy lemonsimage - OH has just gone out on his bike for some) and then herb butter to rub under the skin of chicken which will be roasted for dinner tonight. Love herby summer roast chicken with simple easy veg - none of those delicious winter stuffing, sausages and bread sauce accompaniments - but much quicker and easier to do - probably a darn sight healthier too.

If DD looks in here - I do hope you had a good day yesterday with many more to comeimage

BL - hope the weather holds and you have lots of garden visitors today.

Dove - nice to get the boot off - must have been rather hot and itchy the last couple of weeks. Hope all goes well tomorrow at the hospital and you'll be (carefully!!) skipping around the garden before too long.

Fairy - sounds like you had a good - if rather long - day yesterday. I have a recording of The Adventure Show from nearly 2 weeks ago to watch. Might make me homesick for Scotland.

Hope everyone else has a good Sunday - TTFN.

Good morning...........much cooler this a.m., it turned out very hot yesterda. as can be seen by sun-bathing cats.  Found the first blackfly on my newly grown dahlias, they are a lot wetter than greenfly when squished.

It was overcast here until quite late on yesterday, but today we've got blue skies and just some hazy cotton wool up there ... it's lovely in the garden ... the grass needs cutting but I'm not allowed to do it 'cos of my foot and OH is on an errand ... I'll do it later in the week once I've been back to the fracture clinic tomorrow.

I seem to be misplacing my posts. I'm sure I'm writing more than is appearing!

It's now too hot to hack around the garden; though I have at least filled the green bin again. His lordship does not think much to my garden design ideas so I need to replan things. The vegetable beds in front of his shed have to relocate; he needs to spread out land rover axles on the current lawn and use the area as a work space.

It also looks like I won't be having hens any time soon as his mother has made plans to have my chicken equipment etc. I was brought them 3 years ago as my birthday gift with his lordship saying he'd make me the run. She says she'll buy me a new one when the time comes. I don't think the time will come.

Dove; no going silly when you get the okay! Remember things will be weaker.

Just sitting here, slowly melting into a pool of perspiration, feeling smug 'cos all the pots, trays and seed boxes are washed, watching the birds (whose feeders get topped up every day) wondering what happens when they eat too much and can't get into the squirrel proof cage.

Then it came to me! If they can't get in they can't eat until they've slimmed down, need a squirrel proof cage for my fridge...........   Can't decide if this is a good idea or just heat induced hysteria.
