Thanks Dove. All made by people in hospital or hospices to brighten up the hardens which are accessible from the local hospital. Socks for trees too tho why they'd need them there I can't imagine! Sideways again. Sorry.
Probably too late for Pat but doesn't eucalyptus wood spit a lot? probably OK in a closed wood burner tho.
I went out to weed the wee lilac bed and plant my two new shrubs. left the sprinkler on the shade bed to prepare for weeding then found the ground so dry and hard I couldn't get the spade in to dig a hole for the salvia but then it started raining anyway. I shall have to use the sprinkler more often - but only when OH isn't looking!

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Glad you had a good time In London LilyP - and are looking forward to welcoming the Muscovites
Showery here, but we ignored it and went walking anyway . Did 11 miles,so now sitting down with a cuppa before setting off again for a short local loop. If I can get 20 miles under my belt in a day I'll feel abit more confident about the charity walk.
Good job the garden is looking after itself at the moment
chicky - you'll be ready for a trip up here for a hill or two soon.....
You're young and fit, unlike us over 27s, so your walk will be no problem. I have every confidence in you.
The rain has disappeared here so I've been out sorting the bed under the lounge window which has been a bit neglected since the 'stension was built. Need to take fairylet back to t'mill soon.
Dacha - is that where Diarmuid got his 'coloured ball garden' idea from, do you think?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

ggrrrr. Came home from work and made a cuppa. Realised I still had the shop pager on me so I've had to drive back with it. Annoying.
Oh dear Hosta ... what a PITA .... have you had a chance to check the bank?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Fairy, I believe the original skew-whiff ones from Obelixx could have been more of an inspiration for Diarmuid's balls
Having this cuppa then heading down Dove.
Fingers crossed.
