Last bit of weeding this morning then shopping this afternoon for drinks to serve. Have cakes in the freezer and will make an orange and courgette cake too. Hard to know what you need when you don't know how many will come, especially now storms are forecast. It will be very hot today, don't know whether the flower beds could do with some water or if it would be best to leave them. Open Gardens are stressful as well as hard work. I expect DD is feeling similar, but hers will be her livelihood.
Going to the Chinese for lunch before the SM.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all - feels like another warm one in the offing. We didn't get the storms either Dove - a few rumbles and about 5 minutes of heavy rain. With all the heat my garden is in need of watering - again. You had too much - we didn't get enough - we're only 50 miles apart - you'd think they could spread it out a bit
-8C sounds a tad chilly Pat. Canberra based Sis in law is here for a holiday at the moment. Think she will be pleased to be missing those temps.
Enjoy your meal and the concert Chicky - sounds like a good weekend. We have no plans but OH is home so we may get out somewhere.
Kittens!! AR - definitely need some photos!! - it's a new Forum regulation to bring photos when you get a new kitten or puppy
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Me too Hosta. Too hot here for chocolate. Our treat from yesterday is in the fridge. Côte d'Or white chocolate elephants fllled with milk choc praline for Poss and milk choc with salted, honeyed almonds for me.
Off to play now as I have to leave the meter by 10am. Free from 6pm to 10am so very civilised really.
Those kittens are gorgeous and will be lots of fun.
I hope you all get the rain/sun you need for today.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Love the kittens. Thanks for the photos. They made me smile.
Topbird, I'm sure you SIL will be glad to miss our temps. They apparently had good snow falls overnight at Thredbo and Perisher (you can tell her that) . Der!! Accidentally hit the italics thing.
Gorgeous kittens We don't have cats here (OH allergic) but we like to look at other people's ... and we have a vicarious pet cat ... the ginger one who came to visit us the day we moved in here ... we call him Hucknall and watch his exploits from a distance .... he lives in the house up on the corner, but we've seen him coming out of another house two doors away quite often as well .... he's a sociable chap.
Hosta ... I don't do André R either Put some sunscreen on!!!!!!!!!
Topbird, you're welcome to come and get a water butt full if you like ........ there's plenty in the puddles down the rise ........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Glad Joyce popped in.

They are gorgeous AuntyRach! George is a bit like my Alexa but he has more black.
Morning all.
Hosta hugs for you Joyce.
Obs, I'm most certainly with Possum on André Rieu. Clappalonga Strauss is not my bag.
No thunderstorms in these parts but it's cooler and cloudy this morning.
I have to confess I got a wee bit too much sun yesterday. I've got tingly bits ( not those bits, tsk @ you lot)
It's National Chocolate day, apparently, so Waitrose have a " tasting" going on for Partners. I might have to pop in later for a wee sample.

Hope any storms leave you alone for the Open Gardens Busy.
Hosta: when you say "wee sample"... my brain thinks of a trip to the Doctors! Hehe.

I'm such a slow typist - you put the pics on while I was posting AR.
Kittens are absolurely gorgeous - full of mischief faces

I spend so much at W'rose I must be a partner. I shall ask to be included in the tasting when I'm there later

Hosta, be careful of sunburn! Could be painful.
