I hear the sound of gentle rain on our window - is it heading your way?

Droughts in May - virtually unheard of - what sort of summer are we going to have - wet and windy?

50-60% chance of a little rain here in Berkshire, no doubt the dark clouds will just pass on by again

Google is full of misinformation, of course, but I think there are plenty of examples of seeding clouds to make them rain but I don't believe it is possible to prevent rain. Mind you, I've always wondered when the weather forecast predicts "organised rain". I mean, just who is organising it....image

    No rain here yet.... (Essex)

OK. I concede it is possible, and has been used in the past for things like opening ceremonies of the China Olympics, but still think it's very unlikely (or possible and/or affordable) to use on a wide scale and who on earth would want to do it.

Just had rain. l sated no more than 2 minutes and barely made the windows wet let alone let alone the soil. still a bit of cloud cover but it is white and fluffy and blowing inland.

It's the "organised bands" of rain you want to watch out for.  You never know what they might get up to. imageimage

well it's not being suppressed here. Two really heavy showers and a steady light rain in between since about noon. The humidity is high so it's not evaporating too quickly even though it is very warm.

We're in a 'slightly less than average' zone for rain in April - I think like GD said, we got half the month's worth in one day and night right on the 30th so the rain barrels are reasonably full though the soil is dry (and I have clay, so for 'dry' read 'concrete').

    Lovely growing weather today image

Just the slightest bit of rain last night - not enough to wet the grass, let alone fill the hedgehog water bowl.

It has been a lovely day here so far - hardly a breath of wind and pure blue sky, but now the air is humid and the clouds are building up - building up to what we shall have to wait and see.

Had some rain when I was waiting in the car to pick the missus up from work.  Hardly dampened the windscreen.  Now bright sunshine but with big black clouds all around.  We live in hope that it will rain, but behaves on Saturday when we'll be at Malvern Spring Festival.
