From Met office just now. 18.40 hrs BST

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday will be dry and warm in the north, but cloudier with a chance of showers further south. Showers will become heavy and widespread on Friday, with more on Saturday.

    Then......

UK Outlook for Sunday 14 May 2017 to Tuesday 23 May 2017:

Many of us are likely to get a good deal of sunshine on Sunday, though a few more showers will arrive. Some more substantial rain and stronger winds could well affect the north-west later. Temperatures are likely to stay warm in the east, but become lower in the west. Into next week it will be more unsettled and windy in the northwest, with outbreaks of rain here and near average temperatures. Further southeast it will stay drier, brighter and possibly turn very warm and humid for a time. However, there will still be the chance of some heavy and possibly thundery showers. It will be rather breezy some of the time, with stronger winds throughout in the northwest.

It is still a bit iffy. I am not holding my breath . It depends where you are in the UK .

Not quite what I wanted to hear.

I just know that if I line up all my trugs and look hopefully at the sky, I will not even get a "plink" in them. However,if I plan a day out, outdoor project, or hang out the washing,we will get a deluge of biblical proportions.

I've already tried that last Saturday, didn't work - went on a long (30+ miles) hike and it didn't rain anyway, it was just headwind most of the time and very cold.

Desperate for rain here in central Scotland. Has not really had any rain since start of March. Garden is bone dry and for once I have watered beds before planting out.

Blimey,no pressure then ! I was watching the lovely Thomasz Schafernaker saying "These downpours will be heavy, but you won't all get one"  and imagining a large black cloud passing me by as I was waiting in hope image

I'm feeling quite smug now after reading all your much needed rain comments - it was on Saturday that we had the heavy rain - we really didn't know what to do with ourselves that evening - we have got so used to spending 30 - 40 minutes watering outside each evening - the rain dampened everything for a couple of days but the winds soon dried the soil surfaces again.
