The rain isn't the problem here - but the wind is. It's causing havoc with my flowering plants and roses. I will be spending tomorrow repairing the damage as much as possible.
As for others rain came yesterday later than predicted, but still raining now -not what was forecast. I agree with GD2 above wind is an issue here, more like October than June. Got to reset the cordon wires on my small pear tree on allotment as one end post has broken off!
its been raining here solidly for over 24 hours now, the beck near my allotment however has gone up about 10cm (it usually floods with the slightest provocation), that just shows how dry the ground is round here, you can practically hear it sighing in relief!!
and at home all six of my water butts are now full, the first time since before Christmas that's happened!
The way the wind is blowing, you should all get some sunshine by the end of today. I think it should be dry for a few days now, but don't hold your breath - the weather has been so changeable lately.
I think someone's having a laugh at my expense - we are going to the Chatsworth show on Thursday & I'very just seen the forecast on the BBC website for heavy rain the night before and at least the whole of the following morning . We are travelling up from Gloucestershire the night before & I see the RHS are "monitoring the forecast" That will teach me !
Persistent showers all day in Edinburgh. South supposed to dry off Wednesday afternoon before more rain. Gloomy weather net prediction has no peeking sun behind cloud icons (!) until 25th June at least for here. Wah! Every year when my peonies and oriental poppies start to bloom - it always rains. Last year I put an umbrella type cover over them - caused hilarity for any onlookers - but saved them for a week. Not sure I'll bother this year.
It is so reassuring that the RHS are "monitoring the forecast". Fat lot of good they can do, nobody has told the clouds or the high winds. I will be disappointed if it has to be cancelled thougn.
The river Derwent goes right though the grounds and that is a potential flood plain. It could be chaos with vehicles potentially getting stuck etc . Let's just hope it improves .

The wind and rain has not really stopped since yesterday. This is where our very sandy soil is useful.
It looks as if it has set in for the week.

We've currently got hail stones in Southampton! It's like winter out there.

I can handle the rain, but these gale force winds are ripping my beech trees into shreds
