weve got sunshine and it's definitely the warmest morning we've had for a while ... OH has turned the heating off and opened some windows ... this looks promising ...

i heard from Wonky yesterday ... She's very happy in her job ... I'm planning to visit her at the weekend and see the changes in her own garden and I'll take her some tomato plants

    Morning all.

Hosta; I love our smart meter. Not least because we jumped on the bandwagon and got one early so have a deal where we get free electricity on a Saturday.

It helped us keep track of things; for instance we learnt our outdoor lights kept coming on all night! They weren't exactly cheap to run either.

Lights upgraded and sensors adjusted and no more surprise spikes at night.

Last but one school group today. I hope they're well behaved.

    Morning all.

Another night with less than 4 hours sleep.image Lyn, I took one, honest. I'll take another tonight and see if it helps.

Another lovely sunny morning. I aim to clear that bank today as they're forecasting rain coming in, possibly, tomorrow or Friday .

I'm going to gamble and not spend the day cutting the grass .image

Hosta ((hugs)). We in the East are getting some rain on Friday, according to Bro who pays for special forecasts for the farm.

I need to hoe the rest of the veg patch in preparation for the beans ...

    Morning,

i see the Kerch debate is still going on, please pass on all findings? We look at wind turbines and no reduction for us, the village is meant to buy I don't think it does

    Hosta ?

have decided to have Wednesdays off and go up to town to my old Pilates class which was fab. I will make it a day to catch up with friends. So it's lunch with a cousin in a GC!

    Morning all.

We really enjoyed the opera last night, Nabucco, in Norwich. The soprano was pretty too. We arrived early so we wandered around the city and had dinner in the Belgian Monk, moules frites.

    Going to Anglesey Abbey today.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Hiya all.

Just been on the phone to SSE for almost an hour. They're sending someone to a " search and trace" test next Tuesday  ( day before smart meter is due to be fitted) then we'll see what he comes up with and take it from there.

I could have done without spending that time on the phone. ggrr. I just want it sorted.

Just called Hubby to "keep him in the loop". He's going to pop into B&Q and Homebase to get some tomato plants as those I sowed last week are just germinating. I'll get fruit from them but he's offered to buy some to get things going, so it'd be rude to refuse.

Would love to visit Anglesey Abbey Busy.  Pics please.

We have been to see the village mayor this morning - introduce ourselves and offer the old cooker and sink units form the "before" kitchen.  perfectly good but not for the new kitchen.   Nice chap and very pleased that we're happy to get involved in village life.

Lunch next and then walkies cos , at the mo, by the time OH has finished his garden projects and wants to take them out I need to be cooking dinner so a change of timetable has been suggested.

Re our plans for the garden - in my head it's all done but actually getting things off the ground takes a lot longer.  I shall do a thread when I have something to shout about.   Hoping that this pm we can get membrane down and edging so I can spread MPC on the new rose borders for OH to work in with his to while I do a windbreak.   With any luck I'll get some planting done by the weekend.

OH did suggest lunch out after seeing the mayor but I'd rather get on.

Sitting having breakfast on my ownsome in an American hotelimage  Thought I'd noodle with you lot whilst I contemplate the wisdom of cinnamon french toast at this time in the morningimage

Smart meters are a force for GOOD (see what I did there with Trump-speakimage) .....understanding when we use energy will be increasingly important, not just how much we use.  As we get more and more from wind and sun the dynamics of the system change.  Thats not a BAD thing, but requires new thinking about how best to use it......
