Morning/afternoon everyone. Beautiful blue sky but it was very frosty when I first got up.
Just been catching up on things, such a lot going on in everyone's lives and most of them good. Exciting times ahead for some, not so good for others but you are all so supportive that this thread keeps enticing me back.
I decided I need to transfer all my old home videos to a digital format so we can actually look at them again. Can't be too hard I thought. First problem, my old player has died since it was last used but I've found a reasonably local one on freecycle - going to collect it later and then the real work can begin
We escaped the frost too. Whew. Hostas looking better than I can remember so I was worried.
New shift patterns confirmed at work, (either 6am-2pm, or 2pm -10pm) I'm not joining in so I had a word with my Section Manager . I'll be driving every Sunday, Hurrah, and on tills either Tuesday, as I do now, or Thursday as I worked before my knee gave out. I've given them the option to show how "flexible" I am. Good of me eh?
It's supposed to be about productivity but they've had to advertise for a new driver ..... DUH. I think, strange as it may seem, not many were keen to be working until 10pm every Fri, Sat , or Sunday. It must have come as a surprise.
That sounds like a long but eventually rewarding task DyersEnd! I love freecycle! Such a great resource! I do hate waste and its amazing what some folks throw away! Also very useful for when you want to have a clear out but are loathed to throw away a perfectly useful item best of luck in your digital conversion!
Thanks Wonky and I'm totally with you on recycling. There's often gardening stuff on there as well when people do garden makeovers, lots of gravel/stones/paving for collection at the moment in our neck of the woods which must mean more plants being put in. Hurrah!
Good morning all. Cold but no visible frost; we have cloud today - but it's dry for another morning's work in the park. I'll see if I can get some photos this time.
DyersEnd, my hubby has just finished scanning all our ancient family photos and slides on to the computer, having digitised our cassette tapes a few months ago. Hope you manage to find an easy method of transferring those home videos! They bring back so many happy memories.
Your bluebell walk sounds lovely, Chicky. Ours are just beginning to open up here. Hope you enjoy your stomp, Wonky - and that Flatters sorts himself out!
Soldanellas are great in shade, Fairy, and like it cool, hence are happy in my garden. They're tiny though, so they don't make a "splash" - you have to grovel a bit to appreciate them.
Hope Hosta slept better - and that you all enjoy your Wednesday!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I agree Dyersend quite often there are plants this time of year when people have been dividing perennials, I've got a couple of ornamental grasses from freecycle before and some old bricks for greenhouse base. One persons rubbish is another's treasure!

Have a lovely day whatever you're doing

Thinking of you, too, Lilyp. Should be a very exciting time.

I too love Freecycle. I gave away our greenhouse glass and have been "given" an electric garden shredder, a garden sieve, and a fab white water lily.

Morning Hosta and Lirio
Hosta! I think freecycle embraces my womble tendencies!
Lirio, Flatters is presently snuggled on my duvet, chewing his toes! He does that!
Enjoy your walk in the park, love those chilly bright mornings!
Morning all.
With so many early birds up and at it, I feel quite lazy
Dentist later.
