Morning folks, afternoon Pat, waiting for promised rain here Pat, not that I want it really but I dug up, levelled and reseeded the entire lawn and its yet to be watered in!
Not sure what the day holds for me yet, may brave the garden but its a bit blowy, now I've taken down the plastic greenhouse thingy, there is no where to shelter as the shed is too dark.
Magnolia Leonard Messel is out. Daffodils still out but more of the different sorts now, yellow trumpets on their way out.
Feel a bit cross with housesitter. Our regular one wasn't free. OH is a friend on Facebook, because they are in the same choir, but OH rarely bothers with FB. Have seen that housesitter posted photos of my house and horses on Facebook and one day said he'd had a busy day tidying a garden, but those photos weren't my garden. He's gone off with OH's wire that feeds the transformer for his computer, he didn't get the post in (he had a list and that was on it), and he's eaten nearly all the honey that I bought in a local bazaar.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all. Late start today owing to a lie-in needed after being kept wake half the night by OH snoring. It's cool and breezy and grey out there. More painting for me and then some pottering, outdoors if it warms up. It's so uninviting out there at the mo that OH is tackling our ironing mountain.
Haven't seen the news properly but have heard bits in the background. I can't see that Merkel will have been surprised by Trump's behaviour or utterings. Putin and his cohorts will have closely studied Trump and his tricks and will make him look foolish if he tries it on. I have no admiration or liking for either. Both dangerous and arrogant and stupid in their ways.
Anyone seen the new line-up for the Bake Off?

Yes. I like Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding ... not sure if they're right for Bake Off tho. I'm not sure if Paul Hollywood will 'get' Noel Fielding's humour ... may well make Paul be even more prickly than he has been when fun has been poked at him. I wasn't going to watch ... but I might ...

Not familiar with Noel but I really like Sandy T and Prue L. PH is a tad too naive and sensitive and humourless for me so let's just hope they get a good batch of amateur bakers.

I thought it was a slightly odd pairing for BO too - but I expect it has to be different from Mel and Sue to get a reaction/audience initially. Whether it will work long term is anyone's guess. I love Sandi and I've come round to Noel Fielding, but I think he may be a bit too 'out there' for lots of people!
Dangerous, arrogant and stupid pretty much sums up Trump, Obelixx. It would be hilarious to watch, if it wasn't for the fact that it concerns and affects everyone, not just Americans. I think dangerous is definitely applicable to Putin!
Rain came on and it's not terribly bonny out there, so I think h****work will have to be done
I went out and got a couple of pix earlier, so I'll have a look at them first. The blackthorn has lots of flowers and buds, and the buds on the alpina clematis are very rosy and almost ready to open. Really early - usually end of April before they start into flower. The alpina foliage is so lovely on it - fresh green and frilly
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Meant to say about BL's housesitter too. Why are people such a***holes? Don't offer to help if you can't be bothered to actually do what you've been asked...and as for taking stuff....
It's brightened a bit here, so I may go outside instead of hoovering

Oh BL - that's awful - really not on - how could anyone think that it's ok to behave like that
((hugs))

Afternoon folks, Still a bit blowy here but no rain so might venture out into the garden. Spent the morning with Jonah so that was great.
Sorry to hear about your housesitter BL, the cheek of some people.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hang on to your hat Yvie....
