Had to have a little snoozle after lunch cos my shoulders were really tired. Been out and top dressed the hostas which are pushing roots out of their pots and got some mint and found Fabienne stressing about their dog - a geryhound/retriever cross so a natural chaser - watching our two kittens on our side of the fence. Had to tell her that the cats have to take their chances and run up a tree if they trespass next door and their dog may gradually become accustomed, like ours did.
Coffee and shower now for a raid on a supermarket and then staying clean for dancing later.
I love liatris but it didn't like the Belgian garden.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Don't overdo it Obelixx - damaged shoulders take ages to heal - I know!
I just picked a load of perpetual spinach and Swiss chard to have for supper, and found ........... A PAIR OF CANOODLING LILY BEETLES!!! in my veg patch???????????
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Enjoyed Oxburgh Hall, but it was lovely and sunny when we left, nearly didn't take my coat, but then the sun went in and a chilly wind got up. No snowdrops, but lots of daffodils were out, but it was the house we went to see.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Love Oxo Hall BL. Had a lovely snowdrop walk there last year with some excellent company - but I've also been on my own to look round the house. Did you see the tapestries? Lovely
I've done a bit in the garden today - moved a pyracantha - ouch - and cut back the buddleias and elder so I now have a pile for shredding. Decided not to do more cutting back / hand weeding as I can feel a twinge of tendonitis in my right forearm and I don't need to to be stirring that up at this time of year. One of the perils of hand weeding on heavy clay soil unfortunately
Was lovely and warm earlier so went to SM and bought quiche & salad stuff for dinner. Has gone cold now & I'd rather be having Dove's crumpets (as it were)

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

I've only partially cut back my buddleias T'bird. They'll just have to wait till I have the time...and the inclination. Too busy watching the birds and doing other stuff...
Gey breezy here today - fairly hideous weather by lunchtime, although it cleared for a while in the afternoon. Rain coming back now. Garden's had a bit of a pasting. Just as well I don't have lots of 'fluffy, cuddly' plants
Hope Liri got across the water safely. Lots of cancelled ferries and closed bridges today, but mainly further north I think. Missed the news reports. She may need to tie herself down to something while she works...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Drizzle. heavy showers and now sun but a cold wind. Haven't been able to do anything worthwhile outside.

Don't get chilled in the wind Joyce - sit on the sofa with me - I'll put the kettle on - there's crumpets for later

Toasted crumpet and butter would be lovely Dove

I think the cold wind has crossed the pond from the U.S.
Just the ticket when a chill wind gets up Joyce - help yourself
