But if she waits and the weather gets colder the move then would be worse for the hoglets was my concern. At least now there is warmer weather and abundant food so they would have time to sort themselves out @AnniD🙂
I have decided to wait till the end of this month and if they are still there then I buy a bigger pot for the tree. I can't risk the hoglets being out if the weather turns cold. The tree might get set back a bit but better that then killing the hoglets.
I would advise to wait too - the mother hogs with babies should not be interfered with. Trees can be planted during November to March providing the weather isn't freezing. Can you set up a couple of hog houses so once the hoglets have been weened there will be alternative sheltered places in the garden for them to hibernate in @NannaBoo ?
Guernsey Donkey2 , there are already two out there and I will be make another one. I think three in our small garden is enough. Re the tree I'll wrap the tub and put it somewhere sheltered. My only worry is that she might have another lot of Hoglets and so it will go one.

That's great news, when they're old enough they will have to find their own place to go, they won't all stay in the same garden. 👍
Logan4, isn't it lovely when there's more than one. I've just been sitting listening to them in the undergrowth and suddenly one appeared got some great photos of it's back. We think they youngsters must be 9 or 10 weeks old going by their size. While I've been on here son said they've been back and the food bowl in almost empty, so they are all feeding well.
NannaBoo yes it's lovely seeing them eating knowing that we're helping them. Rescued a youngster up the road from getting run over on the busy road. We were walking Barley and saw him wandering around he didn't know where to go. We took him to a young woman who had a hog house in her front garden and it's a quiet close. She put him in the house and barricaded him in until it was dark. Yesterday hubby checked with how the hog was. She said that he was dehydrated and had a long drink then he slept for a long time. She let him out and he went into the bushes over the road.
It's very upsetting to see them squashed in the gutter.
