Punkdoc, we've still got some of Keith Floyds cookbooks.image They one of his shows on TV here recently. Imagine that! Typical of the dated sort of stuff they save for us. We are still seeing GW dated 2015.  I really want to see Nell. Also how did Monty's effort to make a hedge to match the Nigel dog shape work out?

By the way, Hubby said there is another side to that report of the wife who was sent back to Asia. I forget the details, but it seems she was somehow living in both countries image

Pat, she really lived in the UK but she had to go back to Singapore to look after her parents before they died.

Good morning all and evening Pat.

Hosta,   I hope  your place proves suitable for the bee hives.  Have the blue tits taken up residence?

I'm hoping the woodpeckers decide to nest in the dead tree behind us in the wood as there is plenty drumming going on.

  • Morning all, Hi Pat!

Monty's efforts at topiary are still ongoing.  As far as I remember, it resembles Nigel a bit more than it did, but there's a long way to go.

Can't remember if I've posted this before - my favourite dog topiary, in a minute front garden in my town:

Hosta - hope you get the beehives.  Great idea!

Weather's a bit on & off today - sleet, gloom, sun, drizzle... pruning this afternoon, if I can stand it.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • BL - the antiques places in Norwich are expensive - far better to go to some of the regular antique auction houses in the area - several of them feature on Flog it etc - There's a very good one at Diss which is often on the programmes  http://www.twgaze.co.uk/auction/

another at Campsea Ashe near Woodbridge http://www.clarkeandsimpson.co.uk/auction-centre/fine-art-sales  and another at Aylsham http://www.keysauctions.co.uk/

A bit of sunshine and showers here today.  We're off to an exhibition in a few minutes - OH mentioned lunch out - we may be gone some time ............... image

this is the report that Hubby read about the lady who was deported. Don't quite know what to believe, though.

    Liri, love the topiary, thanks.

Hosta: I used to love watching my godfathers bee hives. They are such busy areas yet always seem so well organised. I hope your area is suitable, not least because it'll be interesting to see how the garden performs with added interest!

Stopped for lunch. Technically hiding in my cupboard with a full bladder and need for a piping hot tea. But I needed to peace and quiet. Daylight hours are foundation stage today and always tiring. Tomorrow at least I only have the one group and a cold to contend with.

I really need a bed in this cupboard. I mean aside from spending so much time here I may as well have somewhere decent to sleep but right now a nap sounds ideal!

Hi I had a good giggle at the dog topiary but the person must have worked hard to shape it like that. We are roasting today temp 41 5c at 2pm this afternoon, to hot so just beenig lazy.

  • Clari, what about a sturdy coat hook on the back of the door and a strong sleeping bag - wouldn't take up much room image

Enjoyed the exhibition and the lunch - now it's time to put my feet up and have a rare daytime nap.

Keith Floyd was the guy who got me interested in cooking, I think I just liked the idea that you could drink wine while you were doing it.

    See original post

Wonky once cooked lunch for Keith Floyd and his team - think she made them her famous Shepherds Pie (but I mightbe wrong).  However as it was in a pub I've a feeling Mr Floyd had more of a liquid lunch image
