  • Morning all, hi Pat!

LilyP - great news about the little'un.  image

Wonky, hope those scratches soon heal - glad it was a lovely day!

What, Hosta?  Lidl lemonade?  Don't you get a staff discount at Waitrose??  Hope your busy day flies by.

Best wishes to the fig, Dove.  I bet it WILL be heavy... be careful!

    Morningimage

Lily P - so pleased to hear baby Findlay is home with his family. What a worrying time for all of you.

Another enforced day of no gardening I think. My back has let me know (in no uncertain terms) that it doesn't do 'couch potato' to 'full on manual labour' in a couple of days anymore. It's drizzling anyway.

18C here yesterday lunchtime - that's not right for Februaryimage. Nice to be out walking round without a hunkered down face though.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Morning all busy cleaning up for my cleaning Lady coming to clean up, cannot have her walking into a left over weekend party can we.

Fairygirl Exceptional Daughter, well that is what Wonky thinks, I told you all girls of five did double digging in pouring rain while Dad sat in the greenhouse. Rooting out tree roots was normal for ten year olds without using the winch on the tractor. The best one was when you asked for a doll I said you will have to earn it never expecting you to go play the bagpipes in the Town Square whilst our Westie did the Highland Fling on a box. The only mistake you made was hitting Nessy over the head with your hockey stick when she tried to nick the Salmon you caught, no one has seen her since, very bad for the tourist trade. Keep sending the Water of life, "oh" and some thermals for under my Kilt, the cat is beginning to protest when I shove him up there to keep the essentials warm.

You are a Daughter any Dad would be proud of as I am proud of all my Daughters, had to be i was outnumbered, keep going girl way too early to retire.

    Mc. Frank.

Morning all. Drizzly and grey here today too, still fairly mild though.

I rescued what I could of my bulbs in pots, though not sure if they'll make it. Not a single snowbunting crocus left, all shredded into little pieces. The iris reticulata were intact but removed from the soil - I've replanted and am hoping for the best. Most of the others had been chewed and the leaves shredded a bit, but might be okay. Fairygirl, I think the problem was that when I went away the bulbs were poking through the soil, but 5 days away with very warm weather meant they grew up through the chicken wire. What seems to have happened is that the tops have been pulled and chewed, bringing the chicken wire with them as the bulb part caught on it. A couple were still part way through the wire. I missed out parakeets in my possible culprits.

Liri, lovely that your mother liked her flowers and that you had a good visit.

LillyP, glad the baby is out of hospital and okay. Hope you are able to relax a little now.

Hosta, well done on the sleep.

Good luck with the fig, Dove.

Sorry, memory has now failed - good wishes to all. Better get back to work (gave myself a teabreak).
