Every kind of weather here too. Sun, rain , wind, massive hailstorms too.
The little parade where Hubby works has a model train shop, the locksmith where he works, a hairdresser , a cheese shop ,a couple of cake shops and a "comic" shop.
The owners always complain about lack of trade, but some of the excuses I've heard them use for shutting as early as 3pm include. " it's raining" " I don't like driving in the dark" " I've not had a customer in over an hour" and so on. They're all very fond of " back in 5 minutes" notices on their doors too. If they keep shutting randomly, who is going to venture into town on the offchance they'll be open? "Self fulfilling prophecy" springs to mind.
The Globe can't swap my winning tickets, but my niece is going to have them. Whew.
Hosta - I know what you mean about those shops. I'm afraid in the 21st century, with online shopping for everything under the sun, if they don't move with the times,or offer a different and unique service, they've had it.
Doyou think B'church will be any good? I'm watching The Team, which is a Scandi/multi country drama. Quite good.
Hope the finger's a bit better T'bird. My mother was fond of sugar and soap as a poultice. Bran was good as well - used to use that when I worked in the stables, as we had plenty of it!
Beef Stroganoff for tea . It was - even if I say so myself.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Can someone pop into the Snow! Help! thread in Fruit & Veg and advise on pot size for a cherry? I'm rubbish at sizes of pots - I just know the right one when I see it

" Having a religion is like having a p*n*s. It's fine to have one, it's fine to be proud of it, it's fine to believe it's better than everyone else's, But don't let it rule your head, don't make laws based on it, and don't let it lead you into a war"
My mother had a tin of some sort of kaolin poultice. Smelt nice, like old fashioned elastoplast; I remember her warming it & plastering it on my knuckle when a splinter went septic. (It got better, eventually... though there's still a little bump in the joint.)
I pruned until my hands went numb. More tomorrow.
Night all!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Dove - just caught the last couple of minutes. Didn't know it was from here or I'd have recorded it. Ullapool is a special place Will download it.
We seem to have avoided the snow LP. Hope you don't get too much. Think it will be icy here tonight too.

The nice young fisherman didn't detract from the view either

And don't force it in someone else's face uninvited?
Evening all. Awful scouts night tonight. Made me realise how bad things are. Maybe I'm just overly tired.
Hope you get a good night's sleep, Clari.
