Awww. sorry you have been poorly Joyce.  Take good care of youeslf as the rotten cough that can develop this year is lasting about a month or even longer - so debilitating.  Remember it took the Queen a month to get better!  Just watched the Winslow Boy - such a good film and "Catch me if you can" is on at 5.45 too!  Helps in non-gardening weather when TV comes up trumps.

Thanks Marion. I've just slept (again) for over an hour while OH was watching snooker.

Ahhh, that's better = 4 degrees already and 9 forecast.  Quite bright, dry and some blue sky in Bristol so expecting to get some gardening done today.  Might fill up the green wheeliebin.   I am sure the sleep in the afternoon did you good Joyce.  i hope you are feeling better today.

I have been out in the garden and worked for a half hour till the wind took my breath away which drove me indoors despite the lovely bright sunshine.  Still our weatherman has promised springlike weather for later in the week and my snowdrops are just gorgeous with some beautiful stately tall ones.  Just walking around admiring them and my cyclamen has given me rosy cheeks!

!) degrees in Bristol - yes double figures.  Feels really balmy!

That was supposed to read 10 degrees.  Forecast is for 9 degrees today and we may have some rain but it is not so chilly now so may get some gardening done.

  • Our Easterly wind is dying down, thank goodness!  Still too cold and damp for gardening though.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

9 degrees already at 8 oclock when i got up after a  late night at the theatre.  The play "Dinner" started with a butler holding the centrepiece for the dining table which was of Birds of Paradise flowers and made the audience gasp followed by another one when the hostess arrived in a spectacularly beautiful red evening gown.  From then on you had to forget about good taste but i defy anyone to get bored at that play!  Raining a little outside but I think it is getting brighter so may be able to get out gardening.  My St. Valentines's flowers are all arranged on my new tablecloth and I have an authentic Madeira cake from the island to enjoy today,  Lovely crocuses Joyce.  I hope your cold is over.  Liriodendron we are in for some springlike weather the next few days and mild nights too.  The daffodils are opening their buds outside.
