Oh dear such a dreary forecast for a Monday morning - only 7 degrees which it is already so all downhill today getting colder and colder till only 1 degree tonight and lots of rain or hail with it!  I doubt whether I will venture outside today.

Marion, after two days of high winds and torrential rain, I was delighted to wake to a slight frost and the sun already out. Probably wont be able to garden but at least not depressed looking at the rain.

  • I'm going to have to venture out to prune some more community apple trees, in the rain...  Not my favourite activity for this weather, but needs must, I suppose.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I hope you are as lucky as i have been.  After a heavy shower the sun came out so I sallied forth for some vitamin D and adventures - two this morning!  i founimageimaged two tulips flowering in February - OK their leaves have been dinner for a slug and they are alpines planted in the sunniest part of the garden but in February!!!  Also my two cuttings i took from the rhododendron greenery in my Xmas present bouquet are growing apace and one has three buds on - cannot wait to see what colour they are.

Yes TY GWRS.  Our weather was vile yesterday so am pleased to see the sun this morning though it is icy in Bristol.  I may get out in the garden in the afternoon if the rain stays away as forecast is to reach 7 degrees by then.

TY Verdun.  It worked like magic till after 12 then the heavy icy rain and strong wind sent me scurrying indoors again or it might just have been the thought of a big pile of pancakes for lunch!!!
