Same here Topbird - goldfinches, greenfinches and bluetits tucking into the sunflower heart feeders in the back garden.  In the front garden there's a blackbird making determined attempts to hang from a sunflower heart feeder and steal the goldfinches' lunch image

That makes a lovely picture in my head Doveimage

See Norwich airport is closed at the moment. Hope all family and friends in Yarmouth are ok although I don't think any of them are in particularly high risk areas for flooding (one lives near Gorleston cliffs!). Not nice for anybody being out and about today though.

Chap has arrived to fit new radio. He's very impressed that the camper heating is on. His first job involved kettles of hot water just to get in the carimage

Morning all. Chilly here, but the sun is coming out. We had exactly what the forecasters predicted yesterday - heavy rain all day, sudden quite heavy snow from about 5ish, which settled but was very wet and slushy due to landing on all the rain. Cold overnight so what didn't thaw froze, then bitterly cold fine snow earlier and now it's all thawing in the sun. Only car and house roofs have any sign of it now.

Getting annoying tasks I've been putting off done today - making dentist appointments, getting an engineer to look at our home phone, filing in fiddly forms etc. Not exactly enjoyable but there is a certain satisfaction to getting them out of the way. Still got to do some calligraphy for the competition I mentioned, but I got a satisfactory photo out in last night's snow so that's one thing ticked off.

BL I'm really sorry to hear that your cough is still keeping you awake image. Hope you have a good day anyway and a better night tonight. Glad you're on the mend, Dove, and Clari - it's nearly the weekend! Fidgetbones, what's the latest from your OH? Hope they made it to land...

And DD - WELL DONE. Thank goodness you don't have that hanging over your head any more. I know I keep saying it, but: onwards and upwards image.

    Afternoon all.

The sky is beautifully blue here after overnight snow.  Very pretty!  And most of the roads are clear so travelling shouldn't be too much of a problem in the valley today.  image

Congratulations DD!  As others have said, it will be easier next time.

Fidget, hope you get better news from OH soon.  image

    Keep safe, everyone!

Cheeks, toes and hands all tingling. . . . the wind has dried up the leaves so went out to clear some of them.

They tried again and came into the harbour and docked after an hour of rolling about. OH got home at 5 am. He says the worst snow was around Stoke on Trent. It looks like we had a bit on the grass, but it has all gone now. We seemed to have a full moon glowing for most of the night. Now it's windy. OH has just had his breakfast.  Lazy day due today.

The Unichem delivery drivers had a bet one year to see who would stay in shorts the longest. The snow finally finished them off. I expect the shorts to reappear around Easter. Their vans have no air conditioning.

Well done DD.   You must be feeling relieved now and it will become easier with practice.   Chocs are great for wobbles and dementors of any sort.

That dog looks like a Malinois to me Pat.   Love that view.

    Pleased he's home safely Fidget.

No snow here but a very interesting drive to and from dancing last night.  Lots of broken branches round here and wild winds then heavy rain and aquaplaning on the way home on the ring road round La Roche.  As we arrived nearer home the skies above cleared to show a huge, brilliant moon and ghostly, feathery edges to storm clouds left round the edges.  Beautiful.

Had to rescue some blown over shrubs in pots and shelter them in the garage.

Interesting night followed.  We separated the kittens so Minstrel could recover in peace from her anaesthetic.   OH slept in Possum's room to keep her company and I got the monster who I found purring, curled up on my hand at 4am, snuggling round my head at 6am and burrowing by my chin at 8am.   Lovely.  Normally these days they sleep curled up together and are peaceful till about 7am.

Bright and sunny out there now but Sunday and Monday are not looking too clever.

I hope everyone gets home safely and no-one is flooded or blown to bits.   Courage to the lurgy club.   Hope that passes soon too.  It seems long and nasty and exhausting.
