  • I have one Gardengirl but it had already been here when we arrived 12 years ago...I just prune overlapping branches and mulch the base, apart from the birds, we get quite a bit each year ?

  • We planted a Victoria plum at our last place - we had loads of plums every year - by the third year we had to prop the branches up - enough for crumbles and a load of jam as well as picking them and eating fresh from the tree.

Aym, is privet an easy to grow tree? I don't know. I too, dont have much experience with bonsai , used to keep banyan and ficus religiosa as bonsai.....then gifted them, when changed house, now I wanna try again with these trees. Will keep you updated.image

Gardengirl, nope it's winter, coldest part of the year............. Mean temp below 15°C and heavy fog. I live near tropic of cancer so winters are not as severe as yours......... But still pretty darn cold!! image

Not much gardening per se. But I will be tidying my shed this weekend... I've bought some shelves, hooks and boxes to put everything in its place. Will be relief when i get all my tools out of the spare bedroom.

I'll also be moving the bird feeder and adding some fat balls.
