Yes, that's it Obelixx everyone did have candles on their trees way back before electricity was freely available in every room (well not quite free is it). We only lit the candles for one evening perhaps for 10 minutes and strictly supervised by our parents. It does all sound very dangerous aym but then people did take more risks back then - fireworks, open fireplaces, no seat belts (if you were lucky enough to have a car. etc.
When we were taken into town to see the shop windows decorated and lit up it was such a treat compared to our more sombre tree and paper decorations at home.
Yes, we are lucky, so many luxuries now that we would never have dreamed of owning or even being manufactured cheaply enough for most people to be able to afford. However some things were far better then, respect for others, values, carefree childhoods, and for many, family life was stronger, with extended families. I am not saying it was better for everyone, there were many hardships and respect was often mistaken for fear.
Yes but there nice names. I had them free from 2 catalogues, but that was a few years ago, they don't do that anymore, they just give me 25 0/0 off an order.Which is good but I do like the christmasy things. I got other things as well.
Hubby doesn't like it all over the house, so I've been doing it slowly. I used to put a lot of white baubles on the tree, but I though it was too much and it was obscuring the lights. So I thought I might get another xmas tree next year and put it on the landing, but with just the baubles on because I don't know what to do with them. Hubby says throw them away, but I won't.

Not me aym, I was too young then and no indoor cameras either - we had a Brownie Box which didn't take indoor pictures.

Here they are. Not doing much today, hubby's given me his cold, which was nice of him.
Don't know if you can see them property.
Did these 2 again with the light on.
