Where did the tradition of wrapping presents come from anyway and why are people who gently pick off the selotape ( usually with pinkies extended) and carefully fold the wrapping paper so irritating.
At least they could show appreciation by ripping the wrapping apart with gusto.
I love it when people put lights on their outside trees but that's it. Can't stand these garish outside displays which seem to be getting more common up here. I really thought my Christmas had started every year on my pilgrimage north when I passed the old blenders cottage at the distillery in Perth. I looked for it every year. They outlined the roof in coloured lights when that was a really unusual sight. It wasn't the same when the new Perth bypass was built.
