  • Thanks 1Runnybeak I started collecting about 5 years ago. As far as I know Wedgwood have been making Christmas decoration for  years but a lot of them were disc shaped. I fell for the bauble shaped ones when I  spotted them on the American eBay. I can't wait to see what they will bring out  next year.image

Love those wedgewood baubles too - very effective and highly originalimage

we have collected a few German wooden decorations overthe years - the ones that swirl round by candle power .....can remember all the fabulous weekends we have had at Christmas markets whenever they come out again

They should have them on a timer so they don't flash during sleeping hours.

It depends where you live. I have not seen so many of the garish outdoor  light shows of previous years, thank heavens.

My next door neighbour has two deer, an illuminated baby fawn and now a parent has arrived, These are rather lovely.

I do have this wicked urge to put up a really  garish display of coloured lights all over my open front lawn  just to stir the place up a bit.  image

  • Why don't you Iamweedy, I am sure you will enjoy the lights - if you go to the sales you can probably get some outdoor lights really cheaply now

We never, ever had lights in the garden, but as our daughter got older she asked if we would decorate her Monkey Puzzle tree in the front garden, but we refused (boring old parents that we are!)image.  However she is now living in our old house and of course promptly decorated the tree - we love it, passers by comment on how nice it looks too. Wish we had done it years ago, as it certainly has livened up the garden.

Guernsey, If did choose to create a garish light display that picture should give you clues.

If you are going to show bad taste you should do  the job properly. No half measures. imageimage

  • Iamweedy, sunglasses at the ready - yes, bad taste indeed. The electric bill would be enough to put me off and I imagine the neighbours would be snipping at the cable in no time. I think it would take more than one day to set up this complicated display - you may be spending Christmas in the garden (or the naughty corner).
