  • Been so busy in the garden, but not sure exactly what I have achieved. I moved some heavy plant pots from behind the garden bench to a more visual aspect as they are almost ready to flower (mini daffs).

Moved bricks and wood.  Gosh my back is going to be complaining for the next few days.

Planted some more small Geum Lady Stratheden that I have grown from seed sown last September, along our driveway.

Spent a lot of time talking to various workmen!

  • Dug up an acer crimson queen I'd planted two years ago that hasn't seemed happy and placed in a pot.  Also potted up a Loropetalum fire dance.

Replaced several dwarf rhododendron that again were planted two years ago and really weren't happy with some sarcococca hookeriana 'purple stem'.  Finally planted out hamamelis Diane and fuchsia Delta's Sara.

I had a short pootle around the garden today, mainly to check out everything that's popping up. Snow drops are such a treat to find in spots where I'd forgotten I'd put them. Waiting for the hostas to start poking up but perhaps a bit ahead of myself there!

Have bought tickets to Chatsworth and then remembered I'm being taken to the gardeners world show at the NEC the following week by a client. Lots to look forwards to!

  • Planted my Impatiens seeds yesterday and they are on the heat mat. Will be starting my Petunia seeds today. Always the reds first, for some reason they are always the slowest to germinate and take off.

Started digging over a new flower bed right down the bottom of the garden.  Went better than anticipated image

  • Bit of tidying done - removed a couple of verbena and planted a polystichum setiferum fern in their place.

Cut back a couple of type 3 clematis as they were leafing out, planted two hellebores and a rhubarb crown.

Feels like spring is just around the corner with all the bulbs coming up ?
