Just about to sow some sweet peas in root trainers which I filled with compost a few minutes ago and am now waiting to get some feeling back in my fingers so I can pick the seeds up!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
It was the damp and grey skies that really did it for me. Cold and sunshine I can manage better. Except when my toes start hurting inside my old walking boots.
Nothing done this weekend.Snow on the ground and a bitting wind In north Essex, on the bright side snowdrops look a treat and hellebores will not be long.
No gardening here today, cold easterly wind, could hardly feel my fingers. However we did go for a brisk walk across the beach - 2 die hards windsurfing, the rest were like us and making a hasty stride across the sands.
Sunny here today, emptied hanging baskets, moved pots around and got rid of a lot of dead foliage from perennials. Lots of plants pushing through the soil now, it's so exciting. Even have a lupin showing.
First sunny day in a long time here in the South East, made the most of it. This week is hitting double figures already Managed to cut back all three hydrangeas to healthy buds today, spread some more manure on a new bed of fairly clay soil & hunt down a few crafty snails.

I am going to sow Sweet Peas soon, too cold and wet to go outside today maybe later this week
You must be joking! It is damp and cold with an icy North East wind.
'You must have some bread with it me duck!'
Still chomping to get going, but it's still too soon.
Did a circuit if the garden, signed the death warrant for a few shrubs and went back inside.
