I stuck a bare rooted plant in the soil . Yesterday I raked up a lot of leaves from the lawn. I am hoping the wind will do the rest. The worst thing is having really thick layers over your lawn.
Weeded and tidied the greengage tree bed yesterday, and planted tulips and anemones in it. A mole had run riot, had to fill in the burrows. Didn't seem a fresh run though. Hope it's gone.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks Ob, roses now planted after dusting the roots with mycorrhizal fungi (which clung well, thanks to them still being wet) so they will hopefully get off to a flying start in spring. Having a cuppa now before going out again to plant the tulips before it gets dark.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Thank you for your kind words yesterday, and after a good rest yesterday and a decent night's sleep I managed to do a little more than walk around the garden today. I sorted some of my seedlings - not strenuous but enough to feel that I had done something! Hopefully I will do a little more tomorrow.
I love using wood chip - we have it on all the flower beds and it really helps to keep weeds down and no it doesn't attract slugs, in fact we have very few of them with hedgehogs and frogs to help keep their number down too. Chips give the garden a very natural look too. Did you manage to get it all bagged up today AWB?

Weather mild so cleared up some leaves and moved some pots around on the patio.
