Had another fun afternoon with OH's electric hedgecutter, done the Santolinas, more lavender, an abelia, caryopteris and a load of dead stalks. Over the last couple of days have done the 2 lavender hedges, some spireas, a huge choisya, the hardy fuchsias and other dead perennial stalks. Only trouble is the clearing up has to be done afterwards. Have cleared 4 piled barrow loads, more to do.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Got a bit crazy in the sun and put in my potatoes and onion sets. I also against everyone's advice sowed carrots and parsnips under fleece. A large bumble bee joined me in the greenhouse which reminded me to sow some borage for her and her friends.

I saw my first butterfly of the year today and a couple of really big bumblebees (fur coat jobs) as my hubby calls them. Must admit if felt lovely actually being out in warm sunshine instead of freezing my butt off. Sounds like everyone had a good day today.
Like @Lizzie27 I have used Milliput to repair broken pots and they are still ok. I did get a terracotta coloured one its not an exact match but close enough. Finally had a full day on the Allotments lots done but the soil is like uncooked Christmas pudding so no chance of putting spuds in yet.
As no-one has posted on here today, l'm guessing the answer to the thread question is "yes" ! Moved a hebe and planted penstemons. Found some Growmore in the garage, so as rain is forecast tomorrow, thought l would scatter it around and forked it in lightly. Pelargoniums and Nemesias arrived from Hayloft so potted them up. Sowed cosmos "Dazzler" , some mixed dahlia seeds and tomato "Tumbler" .
OH dug over the border once again - the soil is still very heavy but we have now incorporated some wood chip and add a peat/gravel mix in the holes when we are planting, deadheaded daffs and removed more blanket weed from the pond - only found one dragonfly nymph this time.
Replaced a fence post which also involved extensive rebuilding of the two old attached fence panels. Just had 120 plug plants delivered so now going out to pot those on. Still haven't planted the spuds!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Did some pottering around in my back garden but not actual gardening, e.g. removing the bubblewrap around my outside tap (now winter is over), cleaning decorative tiles (that have shells on them), oh I did add a lot of spare clay soil around the hydrangea roots which were above ground (they weren't when planted!)
A 'weed' is just a plant in the wrong place - subjective!
