Yes Joyce, I'm amazed with the process of how they develop the patterns. Starts simply, then it gets more and more complex.image

    Home for lunch.

Decent morning and managed to find everyone .

Just found out " the powers that be " have decided to extend delivery times on Sunday until 8pm.!!

    My contract hours are 8am - 4pm and that's all I'm doing.

Who are these folk who want Antiques Roadshow interupted by supermarket deliveries?

    Devon.

Hosta, good luck with sticking to your guns. How are you supposed to find people after dark.

It's not just that Pat. If there's a problem, there's nobody in store after 5pm, so who is going to resolve any problems?

    Afternoon all,

Just spent the morning deadheading and tidying the garden.  Must admit that the advice Monty gave on removing all flowers before going on holiday really worked.  I've come back to loads of buds on my roses etc and deadheading took no longer than normal and I usually dead head every other day.

Had some very exciting news.  My best friend's daughter bought her two tickets to Chelsea for her birthday and guess who is going with her.  Meeeeeee.   Never been.  We have tickets for Thusday.

    Stand your ground Hosta.

Have been ordering new Tulips and after the delphinium slot on Gardener's World I've identified 4 new ones that I want for next year.  I will beat those slugs, I will beat those slugs, I will...........

Hosta, that's something I didn't think of. how silly. It's like the powers that be in the fire brigade (in Sydney) decided that all volunteer fire fighters had to re-do all their certificates - first aid, chain sawing, driving trucks, etc, etc. these volunteers spend every summer using these skills which they were originally trained at, but they've got to be updated.  lots of precious time wasted, let alone the cost paid to the non-volunteer trainers!

Time for bed now. Catch you all tomorrow

    See original post

Hosta image  you'd better ask the store manager for his home phone number so that you can pass it on to any customers who might need it image  Makes sense to me - that's why Super-store Managers get paid all that money image

I've just picked and frozen a load of climbing french beans, and prepped the roast chicken and veg for this evening. Really looking forward to it image

My flippin' shoulder's bdooly painful again image Glad I've got the GP appointment tomorrow morning. OH is rearranging the kitchen cupboards as one of the ones I use the most is really only accessible with your right hand, as it's in a corner - he's going to swap the contents with those in another which is easily accessible with your left hand.

Now I'm going to sit on the sofa and knit and watch the telly - at least I can do that image

  • That sounds very therapeutic, Dove...

    Good afternoon friends!

It's a lovely sunny, clear, fresh day with that indescribable smell you get when the first leaves start to change in autumn.  image  It's a day to count blessings I think, one of which is that since I'm RETIRED I don't have to work Sundays any more...  hard luck, Hosta.

Your hols look fab, Chicky!  Looking forward to more photos when you get back.

Yvie, Chelsea!  image  It'll be great.  Having been for the first time this year, I've just booked again for 2017... Wednesday for me though.

That wasp nest above our bedroom window isn't.  The insects appear to be honey bees, though it's hard to identify them positively when they're above the first floor windows; need binoculars - or a ladder and a steady nerve.  image  If they're bees, presumably they'll be in for the long haul.  I'll have to identify where the nest is, because if it's "loose" in the loft, I guess a bee-keeper would come & remove it for me.  I think it's more likely to be either in the wall (stone, rubble-filled), or between the stone roof slabs and the roofing felt.  Am I feeling brave enough to go up the loft ladder and have a look??  Maybe if I put on leather gloves and my midge hood...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
