Lovely day garden visitingimage  Stockton Bury was my favourite - surprises round every corner, but still felt like a cohesive wholeimage.  Now time for a quick snooze (lots of driving) and then some drinks and dinner.  Luckily the weather held here all day - we must be far enough south to miss the grotty bits.  Can see Welsh hills on the horizon ......feels like a long way from homeimage

Dove; my first attempt at taking a photo Reggie suddenly got the need to clean his willy.

Joyce; I've been trying to find workmen since May! I'm hoping this latest builder is THE CHOSEN ONE because I do not fancy learning brick work.

    evening all.

Spent the day lifting the crowns in the wood so I can get the mower under to hoover up fallen leaves when the time comes.

That was, until the drive belt decided to make an exit . My trusty neighbour / lawn mower man is coming " first thing" on Monday. I've decided to ask him if he can make me some garden obelisks in steel . Had a look online and there's nothing I like at a sensible price.

Driving all day tomorrow so I hope the rain stops for me.

    Devon.
  • Evening all,

Had an easy day (for me anyway), cleaned and i****d and had a sneaky afternoon snooze (unheard of but I felt like it image). Made fig & apricot chutney, not too impressed with the result, only got 3 jars from the batch, seemed to take a long time to thicken up and vast quantities disappeared but it did taste rather good with the bit of cheese I tried it on. image

Just enjoyed SCD, my one weakness (if you don't count GBBO), might just squeeze in an episode of Victoria before bed.  image I think I've watched more television in the last two days than the last two months - maybe this is what 'normal' people do. image

Jogging Club tomorrow, going to go early and get an extra couple of miles in before my 'ladies' arrive - fretting about Paris already - 26 miles is an awful long way. image

Hope you manage to fix your drive belt Hosta, so nice to have a man who can just around the corner. image

Clari, your living room gives me hope for the Tea Room, at least it has plaster on the walls. image Love Reggi too. image

    WW, steady away. image

Obelixx, when do you actually move? and will the attic ever be empty? image

Feeling shattered but slowly getting there.

DD - Friday is when we sign the act of sale, hand over the keys and head south but the furniture and contents will have been all loaded up by Thursday.   The attic is now more full of cardboard boxes to load in the trucks than stuff to put in boxes.   Boxes everywhere in fact and we're running out of them.

Pleased you've had some time to nap and watch SCD.   We've watched both this pm ad enjoyed it but I do hope the Eastenders woman goes soon.   Can't understand the judges' scoring - Naga was better than many others who scored more.  I don't see where a beginner gets and 8 given how much they have to do to improve to a 10.   Loved the judge.  He's going to be fun.   Some very good performances so a good 3 months to come.

Clari - fingers crossed for your builder search.  Our dogs have had their baskets confiscated too - cleaned and beds washed ready to pack.   They have old sofa cushions and a quilt for travelling so are not hard done by.   The cat has a sheepskin I had for lining Possum's buggy when she was a bairn.   Loves it to bits and suckles it.

    Bed now.   Sweet dreams all.

Im sitting in bed watching a herring gull and a crow arguing about who has the rights to the roof across the way. Very entertaining image

Morning Dove and those to come.

Chucking it down on and off for the last 16 hours and I'm driving all day. Expecting the odd "puddle" as we call them. In the South East they'd be known as " floods" but we're a hardier lot down here. image

I heard Geri , neé Halliwell's name has been banded about re Bake Off on 4.!! pah.

DD, Mower man is actually at the end of our road, so not even round the corner, bless'im.

I'm glad you're slipping back to "normal" life. x

In bed with a cuppa - just heard a flock of geese fly over - beating their wings and honking loudly ......presumably getting ready to fly away soon.

looking forward to the Picton Garden and Hampton Court today - sun's shining, fluffy clouds .......perfectimage

Sounds like you are very nearly there Ob ......good luck with the move. Looking forward to following the adventures in your new gardenimage

Oh DD welcome to normal. Whatever that is.

Today is my first "organised" walk for a German Shepherd group. They always seem to be quite northernly so I suggested a few places more local and now I'm feeling nervous hoping people (and dogs) will come!

Then it's straight back home for more plaster knocking off.
