My coffee is black with two sweeteners in a bone china mug. Can't be doing with thick mugs.
OH does our ironing and has a pile building up waiting for a marathon session whilst watching golf on TV.
Supposed to be at patchwork class today but no answer at the door so I've come back and will carry on packing and sorting - after checking all is well with Carine but she's not answering her phone either. Odd. Wouldn't mind but it's back to school today and the traffic was so much heavier than it's been all summer. I forgot.
It's cool and grey so far so may go out and do some plant sorting. Garden group next week so I can offload spare hostas and stuff.
Enjoy the dahlias Busy and the rest DD. Have a good day everyone..

Enjoy Houghton BL - haven't been there since we went with a dear friend to see this fabulous exhibition http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-22431714 . Sadly it was the last time we saw dear Carol - very soon afterwards she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour and passed away shortly after that Count your blessings folks ...
Hosta ... I know what 'spare hostas' are ... even you have some ... sometimes ... they're the ones you give to us and to Wonky

Hosta - reality check. Have to have some space in the plant wagon for clems and roses and other precious perennials, not just hostas. There are geums and hemerocallis and lychnis chalcedonica and special persicarias and so on that I haven't seen on any nursery lists near the new house.
I divided loads of hostas in spring and gave some to the charity plant sale. I will keep one of each to take with me and the rest are then spares to give to gardening friends. The ones I keep will, if all goes to usual plan, thrive and grow and be ready to divide again in 2 or 3 years time.

Bushman nice to see you, hope you're difficulties are soon ironed out.
Hello Raisingirl & welcome.
Taken all of your advice and relaxed - two friends dropped around for coffee, so nice to just sit and chat with privacy too, no OH lurking in the background. One came bearing gifts, freshly picked courgettes, beans and tomatoes so I am having a lovely mozzarella & tomato salad for lunch. Blanched and frozen the veg.
Following on from talk of winter holidays I have also organised mine. Probably not Hosta's cup of tea, Northern France to stay with friends in October, North of England for Christmas, skiing in February and finally 4 days in June with girlies somewhere hot. All cheap and cheerful but hols never the less. I feel a new me finding it's way out of the closet.

Dd, in my experience cheap and cheerful is the fun way Lovely to have your own place for friends to drop in - such a change from a house that could never have felt really like a home. ((hugs))

Great to see you all, Bushman, Punkdoc, and DD especially.
We'Ve packed for the day. Once again nearly midnight. You'd think we'd learn and get to bed at a reasonable time.
i think I saw a Wallaroo near the house today. Not sure. But a kangaroo sized animal with dark brown mottled back like the Wallabies and pale tummy. Not pale grey all over like our kangaroos. She had a large pouch as well, so I hope she continues to come down around the house so that I can watch her progress. I'm curious to see what colour the Joey will be.
