Yes, Obelixx. We've been talking about the cat departing. I don't know when he will want her back.he probably should come down on the weekend to get her, but i'm not going to push. She has had a lovely holiday with the freedom to explore around our place. Hubby said she has been on the foot of our bed the last 2 nights, but it would take something loud to wake me. Every time HRH and I go out to the veggie garden, she appears from some secret area and starts rubbing around my ankles and talking to me, then comes inside for a treat.
Morning all! Sorry I've been quiet of late. As Joyce said: this not drinking tea is proving harder than it looks! I thought it would be all beautiful skin and all that detox rubbish they mutter about after the initial shock of sudden no tea.
I've had cramps in my legs, twitchy arms, a concentrate span shorter than a..., what was I saying? Migraines, and best of all my stomach issues have been most confused by the whole no tea thing and are raging a war against all things... well for want of a better word... solid. But amazingly with all that I've even gained weight (mind you I am keeping Cadburys in business with my current rate of trade).
Bedtime has been 18:30 more than once!
I was even asked by the Tesco check out lady whether my partner was pulling his weight with the new baby! She was horrified when I explained that this yawning unable to remember my pin number confused mess before her wasn't because I'd had a child but because I hadn't had a mug of tea.
Right now I would allow myself to be hired as a hitman just for a mug of tea.
Clarington no like no tea!
I've survived
- 132 students visiting the museum
- the grand opening of the new education project
- 20 of the WORST behaved cubs / beavers I have ever seen "sleeping" at the museum
- My partner snapping the front axle of my car
- The boss
BUT... and this is where the positives start to shine though. I have raised so far £215.00 (with £35.00 gift aid on top) which is an amazing amount I never expected to get so much! Later, if I can actually remember to do it (I've been upstairs three times today and forgotten each time) I will be working out (based on the RNLI exhibition at the museum) just what we've purchased.
But first, first I will take another nap.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. You are all so very awesome and wonderful people!
Well done Clari. I switched form tea to mint tea about 30 years ago and never missed it but then I was drinking black coffee at the office in the mornings and water all day. Can you have an occasional coffee or is it the caffeine and tannins you're giving up? Take a magnesium supplement for the cramps - if you can with your IBS.
Don't you have to try hard to break an axle?
Mobile phones - generally an abomination but sometimes handy. Mine, for reasons best known to itself, has suddenly switched to a QWERTZ keyboard and German predictive text. How did that happen?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Obelix - from time to time OH's very basic mobile phone (not a smart one ) suddenly changes all texting to some Scandiwegian-type language
Right, the front lawn has been scarified - it bears more than a passing resemblance to a ploughed field - however that was the intention - OH will be top-dressing it shortly and I will scatter grass seed and pray for an hour's soft autumnal rain each day for the next week ... but in the front garden only - I need to get the washing dry in the back garden
Who was it who asked the other what setting I used the scarifier on? Today it was on 5mm (second setting from the top).
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Mine is not smart either Dove. I do not ever want to manage PCs and web searches on a teeny weeny screen and don't need any apps. Just need it to be a phone for contact if I'm late or Possum or OH are meeting me somewhere. I've only done texting since I got this one with a screen keyboard. Life is too short to tap a key 4 times to get an S!
Not scarifying this lawn before we go and the new one won't be fit to scarify for ages. I suspect it will all need strimming before we can go anywhere near it even with a mower. Maybe OH should learn to scythe. It will certainly be quieter!

Dove: If I drink much more water my bladder is going to throw a tantrum. I've found that water doesn't seem to make you feel comfortably hydrated like a good cup of tea does so I've been guzzling away pretty much constantly.
The front axle we think was a weakness that could well have failed at any point (thank goodness not near the motorway as I'd have been flipped and ditched). It is admittedly 16 years old. That said on Thursday I was towing a fire engine with it, on Friday his lordship was towing a Mustang with it, and on Sunday his lordship was... trying to release a tree stump from the front garden. We had the tree cut down last year and "killed" with some chemical but my gosh it looks in lovely condition for a piece of dead wood (holly). We;ve dug as much as we can, tried to cut through all the roots we can access but the tree stump is still in place and holding firm!
Obelix: I'm on a ten day h20nly challenge to help raise money for the RNLI. For ten days all I can drink is tap water, no tea, no cider, no caffeine free alternatives, I can't even have sparkling water or a slice of lemon in it or soup if you drink it from a mug. (Don't worry you can eat!)
The RNLI has been in the news far too often this summer and people forget that they're not government funded like the Police for instance (they are after all what you'd consider an emergency service) and since I'm not fit enough to run a marathon and too fragile to throw myself out of a plane I thought I'd join their H20nly Challenge.
Good afternoon everybody from Wetherspoons Lincoln , had to come into town for new glasses and a bit of shopping
Clari hope everything sorts its self out , many many years ago I found out that coffee whitener had an adverse effect on my internal workings ! Once I stopped using it everything was fine
Obelox , hope move goes well
To everybody else hope you are all well & keep posative

Clari ((hugs)) good to hear from you - that sounds like caffeine withdrawal - been there!!!!!!!!!!

Take it easy and drink lots of water (I drank at least 4 litres a day when doing something similar).
Snapped front axle
Can we ask how? What on earth was he doing???
Sweet dreams ((hugs))

Autumn seems to have arrived
Personally I like the different seasons
