Same here GWRS! Such a tonic to have outdoor evenings.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • Beautiful weather here too, no wind, full day of sunshine and more to come for the next few days. We have been on the beach today. Bliss.

  • Hot and sunny in Dorset. 24 degrees means it's too hot for me to sort these out so am currently sitting under the brolly!

Dandylions are very environmental Carolyn as insects love them so I wouldn't worry about them! They also look rather beautiful when in flower. I know we regard them as a weed. I live opposite a small play field where they are plentiful and then blow their seed over to my garden so I know what I'm talking about ?

  • My tortoises would love your dandelion flowers and leaves Carolyn and the bees love the flowers too.

It is far too hot to do gardening here this afternoon, in fact it is sitting under a large tree weather, or preferably swimming in the sea.

20d overnight here, having to wait till its almost dark to water, butts (there we go again!!) almost empty. Been up in the VERY high 20s for a few days now, very strange for a Bank Holiday.  My neighbours grow dandilions and brambles, drive me nuts, I DO have a wild flower area, but the front is a tiny border, they of course overun our garden, (oh, and grass weeds) and the driveway, which is a pig to weed.  A few months ago (next door) Hubby is getting out of car, I lent over and said "Have you got a rabbit?" I dont think he got my drift.  The brambles are even more of an annoyance, I ruined a fairy new t-shirt removing them, every week they need doing.  Means its very difficult to grow what I want that side, got torn to bits, they went through my garden shoes. Half their garden they have just fenced off and let go to ruin, why buy somewhere with a big garden!  So people bring your tortoises and rabbits (Goats?) I will supply address, and tea and cake of course!!!

Nanny Beach , sorry about next door , would a splash of weed killer help ?

Weather , stunning weekend up to 28 yesterday and clear skies - Lincoln

However it is now raining ☔️ and looks like it is in for the dayimage

  • Beautiful day again here, but with the promise of some rain later on and tomorrow.  Well it couldn't last, but this settled weather has been very welcome for us, for visitors and the children on school holidays.

It has meant more watering and too hot to do much gardening after 11 a.m. but I don't mind once in a while, although I am sure I will be the first to moan when the wind and rain batter the lovely plants and flowers.

I am still potting up daffodil bulbs which are now a few years old, but need repotting with new compost and some food to sustain them to flower for another year or two before repeating the process.

Neighbours can be annoying at times, and yes NB why buy a property with a large garden if you are going to let it run so wild. I like a bit of wildness in my garden but not for it to encroach on the neighbours property.  Consideration for others is a motto that should be instilled into everyone.

My garden isnt all "posh" and structured, I have a wildflower meadow under fruit trees, and not neurotic about edges, its soft natural planting, but brambles climbing over shed wrapping themselves round stuff, choking it, plus me getting torn to bits and my clothes removing them, they are so thick they are pushing thru the fence and breaking it, we have replaced 5 panels that side, (its not ours) the bottom of their garden has been left over 5 years, is just a tangle of brambles, weeds, you cant actually get down there now, its such a waste.

  • Will get to 30C today and 32 for Wednesday. Out watering lawn and flower beds this morning.imageimageimage
