I'm afraid our sunny spell was brief, Frank.  Ganzie needed now for the garden.image

  • We also had brief sunny spells this morning, but it turned into a lovely, sunny day during the afternoon.  However not very warm - about 12 -13 degrees. I put my Ganzies away a month or so back - they are true Guernseys, originally knitted using multiple needles but now made by machine.

We're forecast rain of some sort (currently drizzle) all day today here in west Yorks.  Tomorrow looks better though - and the veg seedlings will appreciate some light rain, even if I don't!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Talking of rain, I wish it would here - tonight in preference to daytime. It's been warm enough to garden without a coat, no wind and quite a nice lot of sunshine.

A few light showers which the garden was needing.

Cloudy and cold today. A pathetic amount of drizzle which neither watered the garden nor deterred me from finishing my wildflower bed.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Stockton, woke up to Sunshine yet again as it was Friday Saturday and Sunday though yesterday it turned to persistent rain in the afternoon. Not that it worried me with family here each of the days my two Great Grandsons playing on the carpet, family chatting away around me I am always happy. My Granddaughter is over from Canada for the wedding in two weeks time with Jack 10 months my Grandson up from the Vale of York with George 11 months, the road outside was like Tesco carpark.

Jarping day here in the North East, the decorated eggs get judged then rolled down the hill. In my youth we dyed the eggs with onion or vegetable peelings after boiling them, or I should say during boiling, we had a lovely hill at the back of the house and it would be crowded as we rolled the eggs or Jarped as we called it. Then of course our eggs came in season so Easter would be among the first of the fresh eggs and probably why it was used in the celebrations. I would pick them from the nest boxes, now they come in Supermarket boxes. My thoughts are todays children miss so much of real life.

Very warm and no frost last night, the North Sea on the doorstep is like having a radiator, ten miles inland there would be frost.

    Frank.
