  • It looks lovely, but you can keep your snow Johnny.  Lovely for children as it is, and it is great for a day or two, but it seems that you have had never ending snow this winter, and I don't really think I could cope with that day in and day out.

We have had a mild, calm day, with very little rain and my washing was dry in four hours this morning. We have had enough rain so far this month to make up for the near drought and record breaking dry January.  I planted some mombretia and echiums along the new fence this morning - I hope they will flower this year.

    I live in West Norfolk.
Each year we have a travelling Mart that comes to town for two weeks, which is a fair that is given the right to set up in a certain part of town, with the mart folk putting their living trailers on all the public car parks and this has been going on since around the 18th century.
They always open on or around Valentines day and ever since I have lived in these parts (20 years now), it always snows during Mart Fortnight.
Like GWRS on the other side of the Wash it is bitterly cold today - batten down the hatches!

  • It was -26 when I headed down to the river and fish hatchery this morning. The snow is plowed off all along the path and the sun was just coming up and hitting my face, keeping the frost bite away. I walked for four hours all together, in big winter boots, and when I finally climbed the last hill on my way home and stated down my street, I was walking like Herman Munster! But I got the birds fed down there. Tomorrow the snow will start melting and I'm back on my bike. It's -14 right now.

Grey and cold in Cheshire. My fingers and toes are just thawing out and I was well wrapped up. I have just moved all the stuff around in my Wendy house and gardening sheds and still not found my pruning saw. I wonder if it's in my compost bin or the councils. I have just ordered another one.

Thinking about it maybe I should check the wheelie bin! Like tipping it out onto the floor. and putting it back again. The garden waste collections start again next week.

I wonder how many hand saws and secatures etc end up in garden waste recyling waste sites each year. image

'You must have some bread with it me duck!'

  • It has been calm and dry here, so I have been in the garden for a few hours, feeling comfortable.

Now the sun has gone, and the weather is supposed to get colder and Easterly wind forecast too.

Expecting zero degrees tonight so just done windscreen covering.

Our garden waste collection doesn't restart for another month yet. I am pretty sure I have lost tools to the bin over the years,  in fact I currently can't locate my outside dustpan and brush...

My garden and I live in South Wales.
