The asbestos concrete sheets for roofing are actually pretty safe. It's the fluffy stuff used for lagging and insulation, that sheds fibres that is dangerous.

It was the ceiling boards that we had in the garage. We we're told there was no need to use a specialist firm but, because we lost a close family member to asbestos-related mesothelioma we felt happier taking all possible precautions. They handled it as if it was the most dangerous type, to give us peace of mind.

Sunny here. I'm off to work. Have a good day, everyone, especially wonky.

I see there is another outrage in London. They are talking about mental health issues again. I do think that calling religiously motivated terrorists , "a person with mental health issues" does not help anyone. It means anyone with mental health issues tends to get regarded as dangerous, and gives religiously motivated nutters an excuse.  The facts are yet to emerge, but I hope there is not a fudging of reasons or a cover up.

    Happy anniversary Wonky.

Good luck with the asbestos Clari.

I remember Black Jacks at 4 a penny and sticks of liquorice twig and Bulls eyes in huge jars that were weighed out into paper cornet bags.

I can get just about everything here if I hunt around the different supermarkets but still need the English shop - really expensive - for mint jelly for Possum and horseradish sauce for us.    I expect that may change if the British do an exodus once Brexit kicks in but we'll be in France by then anyway.   Local markets are great for spices when I want a  proper curry.

Off to patchwork class now.   Typically, it is not raining!   Humph!

I may be wrong but from what I've been hearing overnight this does seem to be a MH event. The problem is that with atrocities being in the news, they can trigger behaviours in susceptible and easily influenced people - sort of copy-cat stuff.

Morning, very damp here, not sure trip to Selkirk will be happening

have a lovely romantic day Wonky!

Clari, good luck, I had a good experience whereby it was all efficiently removed safely and quickly

Obelixx, have you apple trees? I make our mint jelly from apples  really easy and much tastier, save yiu hunting. My daughter is away back to Russia with masses of homemade jars as they have trouble finding foods due to sanctions.
