Oh Wonky what have you been up too??? I have so many ideas rushing through my head.
Well today I was at an event in Doncaster. Nearly didn't make it there when a police car pulled out in front of me. Oops! They were at the time hunting a very dangerous person so I did forgive them. But as I was in a police riot van being tailed closely by a fire engine I did pray a little when we all somehow missed each other. Imagine the paperwork.
I have now dried out (almost swam back it was so bad), donned my onsie, and checked my emails to find that I have a surprise Monday off! What to do??
Evening all. Had a pleasant walk - nice and gentle after last weeks's verticals. Somewhat shortened...as I'd left the walk description and maps on the sofa....
Compounded when the batteries I'd charged for the GPS didn't hold the charge, so I only had the 'map in my head'. The ordinary compass is useless without the map...
Hopeless old tart
Got some nice pix though.
You use the Foss mine road to access these hills and there were some interesting vehicles Clari
Glad you have a night off DD. Are you asleep?
Do tell Dove...is it little womble creatures?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just caught up on the last ten pages, sounds like it has been a scorcher for most of us.
Lantana, thanks for asking after me after my last post. Most of this week has been sorting out all the legal paperwork, meeting undertakers, making plans. We are holding up OK, the funeral has been planned for next week, and I think that is going to be hard.
On a more upbeat note, the garden it still looking quite colourful, the rain we have had on and off this week has reduced the effect of the days when we have had scorching sun. I even managed to cut some flowers to make a bouquet for my mum yesterday morning.
My husband has spoilt me today, a dirty McDonalds pancake breakfast, new gardening multitool, and a our first pressure washer (which, sadly, has been on my wish list all year!). The multitool looks like it could be quite useful, for £10 (reduced from £17) from Lidl it seems to be fairly good quality too:
No excuse not to do some weeding or cleaning now, I suppose!
Lol sorry folks I've been cooking vast amounts of rice and peas and curry chicken for friends sorry for the delay Dove!
OK news is...I had a job interview today to be a part time gardener to help develop a growing business and I've got the job! so no bank holiday off for me Clari! So I hope you enjoy yours! And DD I hope you enjoy your night off, it has to be a first!
I'm really chuffed, I will keep my support worker job and do two days a week gardening!
Sorry to have been AWOL folks, got guests and much on!
