Lucky Dove! What tastes you'll remember come the glum of winter.

For anyone needing a morning giggle; while in the classroom yesterday helping a little child try on every uniform while his dad played with his baby brother a mother rushed in and popped her baby in the ball pool and rushed off with her elder child to use the loo.

The poor father was horrified that anyone could just leave their baby in a room with strangers! She was gone for 15 minutes and the poor chaps face the entire time was complete disbelief. I explained to him that it's not uncommon for us to be young babies (often while the rest of the family go on fire engine rides).

He commented how I must be really good with children.

I told him that actually I had no idea how to care for such a young child but found if you look after them like you do the dog it seems to work... you know the stuff; don't let them chew on the chair leg, or pee up anything, leave a bowl of water out if it's warm...

(Fear not he laughed: but seriously I have no idea what you're meant to do with a strangers baby).

Morning folks, afternoon Pat, overcast here, glad really, having a cold in the heat makes you extra stuffy with even less energy! Back to work today though.

Clari, love your pictures of what's greeting you in the morning! Reggie is obviously very style conscious! Harrie is what we call curified at her reflection, this is a permanent state...part terrified, part curious! image

Hope everyone has a nice day ahead of them.

    Morning allimage

Been nursing a sickly littlest chicklet, who has a nasty case of tonsilitus - can't swallow or speakimage.  But at least the fever she had yesterday seems to have subsided.  As is the way of the modern world, she has just emailed me her exam results (AS's = halfway A-level stage) ......from the room next door.  She has done brillimageimageimage.  So very proudimage.  So a short period of whooping is in order, then its back to Florence Nightingale for meimage

    Morning all/afties Pat image

Clari - the centre where I shop used to have a toy shop about fifty yards away from the supermarket. No prizes for guessing what mothers did with their children while they got the weekly shop....image

In fact, the ladies often had random children floating about when they were closing the shutters - and no sign of the 'owners'. Who are these feckless clowns?

Right misty here but I think it's to disappear. Beautiful full moon last night. I took some photos but haven't looked at them yet. It was stunning.

Hope you're not too snuffly Wonks - summer colds linger so much image

Have a good day everyone. Off to the mine soon...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Beautiful moon here too but all clouded over now.  Expecting a mere 24C and maybe some showers.

I have patchwork class today so will be comfy.  Made a banana tea bread to take for the ladies to try, tea breads and banana cakes being not at all Belgian.

After that a raid on the SM so no gardening for me today other than turning the raspberries OH picked yesterday into vinegar since I can't take frozen rasps with us.

Clari - our dogs aren't allowed upstairs cos of the cat but have been known to bark at their reflection in the downstairs French window.

Well done Chicklet.  Hope she is better today.   You too WW.

Dove - one of our courgette plants is finally producing - just in time to make marrows while we were away!  I loathe marrow.

I dreamt about painting last night so am feeling weary.  Onwards and upwards everyone, whatever you're doing today.

I'm feeling inspired. Have just watched a clever person doing "zentangle". Wow, I want to learn how to do it.

Congrats to Chicky's daughter, also to Doves successful gardening, and everyone else who commented. Of yes, Fairy, I put a photo of the rising moon yesterday on the camera thread, but it's not very clear .

    Have a good day all.
