Home from weekend in York; good to see son & DIL, and rip out a few weeds from their garden in an idle moment. Singing was fun too, though getting to the venue in York was a bit of a challenge as the bus was diverted, with many roads closed due to York's annual 10k road race. We ended up we knew not where, and had to navigate to the train station in order to get back on track...
OH is off to our cottage tomorrow for a week; we had a last-minute cancellation. I'm finding lots of useful things for him to take, and giving him a list of jobs. There's always something needing attention so a mid-season gap can sometimes be really useful.
Hope you're more on an even keel now, Bushman.
I'm with you on airports, Hosta... soulless processing stations with nothing to do except wait. Hope you had a good book.
Best wishes for the pond, Punkdoc - definitely worth resurrecting, they're endlessly interesting. This garden is on too much of a slope, but I've had one in most of my previous gardens.
Must go and rescue the toad which has fallen down the ventilation shaft outside the kitchen window...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I was amazed to find everything in one piece this morning, it was just a bit breezy last night.
Very cool, breezy and grey here this morning, so my walk with mum was postponed. We popped into visit a garden centre and then went to the hospital to visit my relative. Brucey Bonus was the ticket barrier and machine not working, and given it costs about £4 each time we park, so it quickly mounts up, we were really quite pleased to have saved a bit.
My afternoon will consist of being trampled on by cats, catching up on gardening shows and I may do a bit of crochet as I haven't picked up my hooks in ages.
Thank you to everyone concerned for woofie, much appreciated
back from vet, very good visit, new vet so was a bit sceptical unfair of me I know He has trauma lesions over muzzle and shoulder from forcing his way out, they will heal fine. His "episode" is likely to be due to something he has found in the fields, even a sick rabbit visiting our patch can cause upset. feeding little and often and their special food ( I had the choice) should have him right by Wednesday. Bless him he nearly licked the vet to death Had to take other one with us as she got so agitated when we got ready to go. She got a quick ear and mouth check as she with us and he sat right alongside her even vet laughed at the bond.
wind still breezy and someone has thoughtfully put slurry down
off to feed the tomatoes, beginning to get some now. How is everyone else crop this year?
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
It's been a beautiful, warm, still day so swept up leaves and twigs blown down during the night.
Two lots of bedding dried quickly. . . i......g to be done later
A lovely, friendly, strange cat (black with white tips on nose, tail and paws) kept me company on the patio and caught one of the many field mice that come in from the woods. The cat can visit again

Life can be difficult at times Bushman
but, as you say, onwards and upwards. . . . a good attitude to take.

Liri, I'm sitting here visualising the view from my home town across to the lighthouse. . . .

Hope OH gets good weather. There would have been problems crossing yesterday.
