I just watched the News and saw the incident of racial abuse on a Ryanair flight, which reminded me of a somewhat similar episode on the Gatwick Express on Saturday afternoon, whilst I was travelling from Brighton to Victoria. The train was packed. Several Europeans boarded the train at Gatwick. As there were no seats available, they were standing in small groups, talking to each other quietly.
Sitting near me were 4 British adults and 2 teenagers. They were an absolute embarrassment, constantly shooting hostile looks at the Europeans and mockingly imitating the rhythms of their speech, very loudly. I thought they were inebriated and tried to ignore them. However, an older woman, clearly irritated by their behaviour, loudly asked them, do you always behave so rudely?
They gave a nervous laugh and stopped for a while. When we reached Victoria and the thank-yous over the tannoy began, they started off again, so as to make sure that French/Spanish/Italian words could be kept out of their ears!
I think the Europeans chose the wrong day to come to England! There was that huge march of Remoaners in London and, obviously, Breximists were incensed. All them foreigners talking in tongues (us Brits use local languages when in Europe) and the tannoy of a British train doing it too.

voting? Going ahead in amuddled way seems
rather suicidal to me, "
