Hi Phaidra, since you were there, I have a little question to ask you. It's not in any way important, silly probably, but after looking at innumerable pictures and the you-tube video of the march too, I sort of noticed quite a few non-whites were also marching. However, I didn't see any Indo-Pakistnis there at all. It's quite possible, of course, that I managed to miss ALL of them! Yet, I admit, such an absence rather intrigued me.
That's a Muslim, anti-West propaganda to which, probably, certain numbers of that faith might subscribe. However, Indians, as a whole, are not Muslims and yet I didn't see any of them either. On the other hand, I saw plenty of black people.
Yes, Artemis, we woz there. We enjoyed the walk, the pleasant
crowds, the lovely dogs, and the many joyful children, some of them babies
too. The speeches weren't bad either! As for the banners, some of
them really funny. The purpose was extremely serious but the crowd good
humoured.
PJ, I have several Indian acquaintances and all of them are fanatical
Brexiters. They freely admit that they resent the fact that any European
can "just walk in" whilst they can't. The fewer Europeans the
more Indians, as far as they're concerned. Some try a more
"reasoned" approach, that of free markets and..unlimited
opportunities. Yeah.
I'm not acquainted with any Muslims, so I don't
know, I'm afraid.
And, Sam, I don't think I saw any Indo-Pakistanis either.
'Twas an evening in November, As I very well remember, I was strolling down the street in drunken pride, But my knees were all a-flutter, So I landed in the gutter, And a pig came up and lay down by my side.
Yes, I lay there in the gutter, Thinking thoughts I could not utter, When a colleen passing by did softly say: "Ye can tell a man that boozes By the company he chooses.' At that the pig got up and walked away!
