Re birds flying into windows: I think I remember @wild edges used some sort of adhesive spots on his, which looked transparent but reflected UV light or some such... apparently they use them on high rise buildings.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Yep. We've got a transparent butterfly on every window facing the garden and haven't had a bird strike in a long time. Apparently they're very bright to a bird's eyesight but less obvious to us.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
An old fox in Winter coat. This must be a comfy spot, it is where the roe deer lie up for a kip too. There is a forest of raspberry shoots in the way which makes it difficult to get a sharp shot.
I've got a wee chap looking very interested in the box. All the seed heads from the clematis that I put in the shell have gone, and having saved them since last summer, I'm hoping it was the birds that got them, rather than all the recent wind Took my camera with me this morning. I'd spotted the odd redwing recently, and there was a lovely little flock of them in some trees, but by the time I'd got my gloves off, and the thing out and switched on, they'd all flown away. Typical! I did get some tree pix which I'll put on the camera thread.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Those spots/butterflies sound very good @wild edges. They'd interest me too.
Could have saved me from buying a flippin' expensive wooden blind as well

Got a female chaffinch in the box now. Ruddy sparrowhawk.
