Your Eryngium is well developed too @LunarSea! Mine got ravaged by something this year and has one sorry stalk coming up, but certainly no flower head forming yet!
We had alot of Holly Blue butterflies early spring, but since then only the odd butterfly, not in their usual numbers. No Red Admiral, Peacock, or even Large White ( Cabbage White) @Sam 37 Had plenty last year, so all I can think is the long very cold spell over winter killed them.
Four jays in the garden this morning! Two were definitely babies, being fed by our regular visitor. Not sure if the fourth one was another baby or the other parent. Ropey photograph, taken on the iPad then zoomed in, but you get the idea.

Yes they were slow to start but I've never seen them flowering as well as they are doing this year. We've got several plants, all cultivars from the 'zabelli' group. 'Big Blue' is a stunner.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
