Yep. The window was only open a few inches too so I've no idea how it managed it. We were sat having lunch and heard a scrape and flutter at the kitchen window and found it sat on my plants. It flew off happily enough and they're back on the feeder now after I filled it back up.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's my second favourite bird home invasion after the treecreeper I had to rescue from the office a few years ago. :)

  • I suspect an encounter with a fox! Awoke to find my sliders mysteriously in the centre of the lawn, but with a distinct FOXY smell about them. Playing with my shoes like excitable puppies I should imagine. Don't mind though :)

  • @steephill - wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing!

It's a horrible picture with night flash - but - I have froglets again after a year in my micro-pond. So relieved. last year I tried to get rid of the thick blanket weed with barley straw extract. I got rid of the weed but the frogs too. So very glad to see them bathing in the warm evening.

Looks like "our" deer hasn't sprogged yet, any day now. She was happy feeding in the garden this morning before next door's tree surgeons turned up and made a dreadful racket. She is back with us this evening helpfully keeping brambles in check. And anything else I haven't fenced off.

Only just found this thread, I haven't any pictures but we've had a wildlife frenzy today, the froglets have started to fly the coup, we've had a cattle egrot arrive, our annual deer visitor has had a fawn and most exciting we've been watching a peregrine falcon this afternoon apparently it's nesting on local major motorway bridge. Must get photos though it's something I'm pants at
