I knew all those lectures on comparative dental anatomy would come in useful one day!

    A little tester for you.
    Seen on a recent walk.

The beak is a giveaway as a fish eater like a Merganser or Goosander. Google says Hooded Merganser. Was it wild in the UK?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Yes it is, and yes it was, although on the lake of a private residence, so I suppose it could be captive.

I've recently moved to a new house, well, December. I was treated to a fox in the evening in day one whilst unpacking. We've had one pretty much every day since. I've since setup a trail cam and got a few cool shots, I need to tinker with the settings a bit though. On one evening the fox seems to just roll over like a dog with belly in the air, curl in a ball and have a nap for sbout 15 mins in the middle of the lawn.

Oh and the next morning I was delighted to hear and see parakeets, also a daily regular visit. Sadly I can't get them to feed or stop in our garden, I think the neighbours a few doors down have that covered already!

I have found that deer like tulip leaves. So far she has left the flowers. A neighbour thinks she(the deer) has cravings because she is pregnant. :D

I'm finding that my slugs don't have a taste for tulip petals, oddly. They chew off every other bulb flower here but seem to leave the tulips alone. I wonder why.
