I didn't even have to look at the link to know what it was @pansyface. Saw it earlier. Fabulous aren't they?
That's a brilliant result for you @CatDouch. Fingers crossed it all carries on going well. I remember being at a train station in Windermere with my daughters, and the swallows had loads of nests under the roof of the building. I probably have a photo somewhere but I think it was pre digital. Lovely to see. I've only got pix of various birds using the pond. The goldies were in for a drink and a bath
On my walk on Friday [An Caisteal in Glen Falloch] I met a girl near the summit who was part of the farm team gathering the sheep off the hills. She had the sharp end of the stick - having to get up there in the heat to get all the ones around the summit ridge. I couldn't get a good video of her working the dog, while up on the top of the ridge, but I got a little one later on down in the glen when they'd almost finished - a long day for them all. It's on the camera thread.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The proud swallow parents 😊 all 3 eggs hatched in our ‘bat’ nest and are growing rapidly, you can see their wide gapes when the parents fly in with food. The swallows in our carport that made 4 nests on our strip light, have had 2 eggs hatch from one of the nests (she laid 2 eggs in one nest and one egg in another nest!)
The creepy bat feet must be giving those poor chicks nightmares
I just went to take a photo of a plant and this lizard came to see what I was doing. They're getting very bold but can disappear very quickly into the mat of saxifrage.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Fantastic @CatDouch - you must be thrilled! Lovely pic @wild edges. I've only ever seen them on the lower slopes of hills.
I might need your help IDing a butterfly on the hill yesterday. I've been doing a set of pix for the camera/walk threads.
It also has this photo, which was probably my favourite bit of wildlife yesterday, along with the hare and the red squirrel. Sadly no pix of them, as it was while I was driving. Ring Ouzel on the summit

Aaaw poor little disabled robin! I've got a starling (one of many!) with a dodgy leg - it's completely knackered but unfortunately for the bird, not removed - it sticks out at a right angle, it looks like it must be a complete nuisance! Still, he made it through winter and the tough times, I just wonder whether anyone deigned to breed with him (or her).
